Interesting that you are the 2nd person who mentioned Plectum Electrum, a song that wasn't even in my horizon while considering this list. So, I had to pop on the headphones and revisit it and headbang headbang . I bet this song would be awesome to hear in concert, if he ever played it!

It was pretty much always played during the 3rdeyegirl tracks. And yeah, it rocks.

RIP sad

Plectrumelectrum was a staple of 3rdeyegirl shows. A video of them performing it in Manchester is available on YouTube - it rocks! Also it was one of my favourite moments of the 3EG shows I watched.

The lists continue to interest, as many include a song no one else mentioned.

Also, there is a very close race for most mentioned song so far among Revelation, Colonized Mind, Anotherlove, Way Back Home with The word just slightly behind.

"Black Muse," "Black Sweat," "Clouds," and "1000 X's and O's" are among the most mentioned, too, but it really is interesting how little consensus there is among us.

Good point. I think it demonstrates how many good to great songs he has made the past 10 years.

More evidence that it is hard to narrow down to 10 - 12 songs. I guess we can consider the extras hidden tracks (LOL). . Interesting choice in Lion of Judah, which seems to be a polarizing song. What appeals to you about it?

What appeals to me about Lion of Judah. Not easy to describe but I will try. The song has some kind of tension. The way it’s build up slowly from the start to the chorus and the end (with guitar solo). I like his guitar playing and the emotional way he sings the song. Also it’s a song that’s not easy to compare to other Prince songs and therefore unique.

Thanks. It is interesting to hear what draws people to different songs. While not a personal favorite, Judas is definitely an original. which is hard to achieve with his vast catalogue.
