Random Fan stories...missing Prince

So about four years ago I worked with this guy who loved Prince razz He was my nurses aide. So one night I took my 21 nights book and we looked at Prince pics all night...he loved it. So last weekend I saw him again at my weekend job and we hugged each other and talked about Prince passing touched he has a pic of P as his wallpaper on his phone and I showed him the symbol pic on mines. He told me it's been the hardest 4 months of his life sad and I agreed. Seems like P's death has been the hardest of any celebrity...people really loved him. You have any fan stories?

There's a thread on Jezebel about Joseph Gordon-Levit playing the drums in a subway and no one noticed it was him, because no one likes subway drummers. So I posted the video of the girls doing "Kiss" as the only example of acceptable subway drumming, and that led into a conversation with someone about how much we both miss Prince.

I was fangirl crazy for Prince when I was around 12-13 years old (still am,lol) I Had his pictures on all four sides of my pink walls. My mother was a single parent and didn't have much money, and she never liked Prince anyway so her giving me any money towards albums or posters was a far off dream. So to compensate, I use to tear pics out of magazines and put them over other frame pictures my mom would buy to decorate our tiny apartment. I use to put red lipstick on and make kiss marks on all of them. Thinking back on it now, it was a little inappropriate for a child of thirteen, lol!

My mom had just given me a little sister after being an only child for twelve years. So my sister grew up seeing me go whacked out crazy for Prince all through my teenage years, not understanding his attraction because she was so young. Once she got older, my love for Prince as a teenager was a running joke she wouldn't let me live down. She drove me crazy with her teasing. She would wax poetic to anyone who would listen about how obsessed I was over Prince. She would say things in front of everyone like "Remember that time you practice tongue kissing on that Prince picture you had on your wall?" To my utter embarrassment. mad

After Prince's passing she went with me to see Purple Rain. I was so surprised to see my little sister crying when he sang the Beautiful Ones. We hugged each other and cried for Prince. She came out of the movie theater stunned (she had never sat through the whole movie.) She couldn't believe what a great performer he was. Anyway, as I said in another post, not a day goes by now that my sister isn't texting me with a comment or picture about Prince. I think she might have loved him all along through my eyes...

Ahhhhh !!!!! Hit the wrong thing. This is too small on a phone!! Anyway the crowd of girls lost their minds when they saw his pic and started pulling and snatching the magazine until it ripped in half. The girl who's magazine it was proceeded to fight 2 of the girls . all 3 of them got kicked out of school because of prince's fineness.

Ok im annoyed. The whole beginning didn't even post😵!

I was 13 as well when I fell in love with him. 1978 Soft and wet was out. We had a nighttime dj here in the D...and he was up on prince from day 1. He played it all the time and I loved the song but had no idea what prince looked like but I just knew he was gonna be fine.

Then he was featured in Right On magazine and the centerfold pic of him were what a 13 yr old girls dreams were made of. A girl in school had a subscription so she had it before it was on sale.

Luckily i was one of the first people she showed it to because 10 minutes later it was in pieces

Superbowl Halftime Show.

The rules were that us volunteers had to be part of a group of 12 or more so I gathered a bunch of my coworkers and couple of their family members to participate. Only two of them were already Prince fans though.

There were two teams. One team was assigned to run onto the field with pieces of the stage and the team I was on had to run out ahead of FAMU and dance by the stage.

We had a week of rehearsals but dress rehearsal with Prince was on that Thursday and I will never forget it because of the awed expressions of so many people who had never experienced Prince before. We were stationed on the field right next to his gear so that was also where they drove him out onto the field. He passed within 6 feet of us in that beautiful orange suit and everybody was applauding, but my coworker's 17 year old niece freaked out....."HE'S SOOOO PREEETTTYYYY!!!! Then my coworker yelled out "Prince, we love youuu!". He looked right at her, smiled and said, "Thanks".

Then both of them screamed, grabbed me and fell to their knees, taking me down with them. lol

The vast majority of participants were under 21 and when he took the stage, it was a wrap because these babies had never experienced anything like the phenomenon that was our Prince. He told the FAMU band how proud he was of their musicianship and those kids just beamed! But when he ran through his set and fired up that guitar you should have seen their little faces light up with pure awe and rapture! I will never forget that. biggrin

At dress rehearsal it did not rain, so Prince actually rose from under the stage through flames and I was so afraid for him. There was only smoke in the broadcast because of the rain but it turned out really well when he sang PR. He was so gracious, even when the mic accidentallly smacked him in the mouth.

FYI, Prince did play live that night even though they gave him the option to play the recorded dress rehearsal instead. I prayed he would not get eletrocuted up there, but I was so damn proud of him that night.

I wish you guys could have seen the dress rehearsal too though, because it was equally awesome.

Omg!!! This is the best Prince fan story I have ever read on here...just beautiful
razz thank u for sharing the story and the beautiful pics with us. You guys were truly blessed to experience that.

I remember Right On lol love this lol u feel in love when you saw him...I know falloff
