Recommend researching a band you might enjoy. Might be tough if you're out of touch w/the new stuff.
Consider a DJ night when somebody like Gigamesh is spinning (Saturday Nov 19th) He's a DJ / music producer that's semi-obscure with a funky throwback synth sound that's reminiscent of early MPLS funk.
