Prince - A personal Recollection by Elyzabeth Fuller

I am not sure if this has been posted yet, but it is a very nice article.

"As the news broke yesterday about the passing of music legend Prince, people all over the world began to mourn his public legacy. For me, however, the news was a bit more personal. In addition to being a fan of his music from the very beginning (something I share with tens of millions of people worldwide), he and I grew up in the same neighborhoods, went to the same elementary and high schools (at the same time), and had common friends and acquaintances throughout our lives. We were never close friends, but I knew him, from a very young age, as one of the kids in the neighborhood – not closely connected to me, but definitely part of the larger social and community fabric we shared. And his death yesterday – as with any long-remembered contemporary – cuts close to home on a number of levels."

I've just noticed it has already been posted yesterday under another thread about the photo. Sorry!

You didn't look. There are plenty of locked duplicates and an open one that says "Pic of Prince from grade school", with the article linked in the thread. http://prince.org/msg/7/430011

^I did look, but only through the search option and it didn't show up (I wasn't searching under "pic of Prince in grade school" wink ). And the reason I didn't check on the main page is because the article isn't recent and I thought that if it had been posted before that would have been closer to that date, not yesterday, if that makes sense. If you look above your post, you will see that I quickly realised that anyway smile
