Edit: Interesting note that, and I know it's been kicked around here, Kim said about 10 years ago they started cataloging outfits, shoes, and certain things to set up Paisley Park as a museum of sorts. He would talk to the fans, and bounce ideas off them, etc (likely a reference to the Celebrations; which would be closer to 15 years ago).

She noted that a friend of hers had a son who passed away rather dramatically, and just on her word of this happening, Prince paid for the whole funeral. Not related, but she mentions his philathropy through Love 4 One Another foundation, and just how much he gave back to the community. Apparently, Prince wasn't afraid to get in his purple Roadster and run to the grocery store to pick up a few things. (Of course, we know he was a regular at Walgreens picking up whatever.) There's a fun story about going to the mall to walk around, and he got a lemonade and some cheese sticks or something, and he said he hadn't been in a shopping mall in a long time.

Did Kim get the year mixed up? As far as I know, he still had long hair after 1999. TRC came out in 2001 and he still had long hair on the cover, and as far as I know he still had long hair during the celebration where they had those group discussions. She must be talking about that Rave into the Year 2000 concert at Paisley Park.

She meant the Rave Un2 The Year 2000. She wasn't around in 1982 for those shows. She referred to it as "the 1999 show", which - to me - said PPV.

It took forever for my YouTube to load this morning, I ended losing track of time and being late for work, I knew I should have waited. But I was curious. Anyway, I enjoyed this.

Loved this interview! The part about him telling her that her nails had to go before she was allowed to touch his hair cracked me up! I cried when she told about how she found out about him passing. Just feel like giving her a big hug! I have just a few seconds ago gave her a follow on instagram.

Also, KoolEaze, yes you're right he did keep the longer hair for at least a little while after the Rave concert, I know he still had it during the May 2000 press conference and on the Leno show in 2001. idk maybe he had it snipped a bit? but definitely wasn't short short during those times.

just remember she said that when he decided to cut his long hair off, he told her to cut it ALL OFF because she didn't want to cut his hair off either. She liked his long flowing locks but he insisted she cut it, so if he told her to shave the sides, then she had no choice or she would be fired.

she also said there were many times he would call her and say "bring everything" which was code for she was going to encounter a very bad hair moment...shame on that substitute stylist abusing the man's hair!"

I understand what you're saying, nursev, but he allowed his ENTIRE body to be displayed as Art. That in itself is a testament to his personal sacrifice.

I didn't like his long, flowy hair. At all. I didn't like that look on him. He's much more handsome and sexy with his shorter hair. It doesn't take attention away from that gorgeous face!

that style on Prince was HELLA tight. In fact, my favorite style that he rocked.
