New Live Album on Tidal - Is this a Bootleg?

Live At The Miami Glam Slam - 3 Nites In June 94

.

https://listen.tidal.com/album/62460018

.

Surely this is an unofficial bootleg?

.

Prince put all of his faith in Tidal so why are they doing this?

Tidal includes menu options to allow users to find albums per artist. This feature is common in the navigation part of a website.

Product Description

Product Description

Prince was on a creative roll in 1994, despite contractual complications that culminated in his assuming the infamous Love Symbol pseudonym. He had a huge international hit with the February release of The Most Beautiful Girl in the World, completed work on the similarly successful Come album in March, performed his sporadic Interactive Tour , and opened his own Miami club, Glam Slam, in June. This superb three-night performance was broadcast on The Box Music Channel over its opening nights, and showcases many of his best-known songs, with typically precise and virtuoso musicianship. It s presented here as a 4CD Set.

Yea, I also searched the album, but still no luck. I only found a cover of Days of Wild.

I know it's a bootleg.

.

It's a shame Tidal are also happy to stab Prince in the back.

.

Particularly after Prince trusted Tidal to treat artists with respect.

.

sad

It's one of those unofficial ones that have popped up on Amazon recently. Streaming sites usually automatically have whatever is available for digital purchase from Amazon, iTunes etc. Lots of artists have these types of albums on Tidal. At least the (majority of) royalties will actually go to Prince (I assume) if streamed on Tidal as opposed to purchsing the CD.

I don't need Tidal so don't use it. Is there a way to complain to them directly? Failing that get websheriff after them. That'd be fun.

But Seriously, this seems so wrong.

By the way, albums like this aren't bootlegs, royalties get paid but the albums arent authorised by the artists. It's usually the same radio/TV broadcasts that can be licensed by anyone and get released ad nauseum by different companies and usually end up in budget/pound/dollar stores.

I cannot find this on Tidal here in the states, but I wonder if the quality is better than the copies I have.

The quality is very good indeed, but not exceptional. It's probably a crude soundboard mix which is don't for the venue speakers and not for home listening.

Does it still have the annoying buzz sound throughout?

That must be the one I have then. The buzzing sound was so annoying I only watched it once. razz

AFAIK, all copies have this to some degree or another. Shame too, some fantastic performances. My favorites are Hide The Bone & Maybe Your Baby. Also, the Santana Medley is on fire!

Bootlegs if not illegal are illicit. Not surprised Jaf Z is Crowley following cheating illuminati shill. He will bleed Prince's legacy dry. Beyoncé should divorce his a** before he throws one more " white party"

This is the circulating Glam Slam boot? Is the quality better than the DVDs?

There is a new DVD source that surfaced some weeks ago, and the sound is amazing !!!

This is interesting. I'm in the US and this isn't showing for me. What I will say, however, is that it's not very hard to add music to streaming services. Idk if tidakl.is any different from iTunes or Spotify but from what I recall when I looked it up previously for those services its really a process that anyone can complete so long as you have the proper kinds of access/accounts set up.

So I say this to say that this probably isn't nefarious on Jay's part, but more a lapse in the estate's image/content control

Stuff like this happens all the time. It's just an oversight and not some nefarious plot to make money off of Prince. There are artists who end up having their demos be put on iTunes and Spotify. Typically they get taken down pretty fast.
