First Avenue <warm up> Eighty-Six Prince And The Revolution

As Stated on the banner at the top of this forum: NO TROLL THREADS! NO SOLICITING FOR BOOTLEGS! Discussion is fine, so long as the bootleg is not being promoted e.g. pre-release; requests/offers to share or copy, and links to download or bootleg sites are not. Posting Prince and associated artist videos from sites such as YouTube is also not allowed. Posts of this nature will be deleted and repeat offenders will be first warned, and then banned. Troll threads, fake tracklists, and attention seeking rumor threads will be also be swiftly dealt with. These rules are strictly enforced! ---------- luv4u

The 4DF version of this show (as pictured) is a wonderful release, and is an excellent quality audience recording, the best currently circulating. Wonderful show, great release.

Still I want it!

I had the Vedi Veni Vicci boot back in the days. I thought 4DF had already upgraded it but I must be tripping. However I think the version I have is supposedly slightly better than the VVV CD. But better is still better, it's such an amazing per4mance!

This is the upgraded version by 4df. The op just posted it like it was something new. And the quality is amazing for an audience recording.

Oh lawd. It's crazy with all those new fans since P passed, some of them make it sound like 1999 was just released yesterday and u wanna run to buy the new album before realizing that 1999 was released in 1982 falloff

Thx for the precision smile

It's not from the video, it's taken from a low generation audience tape.

These days? No idea!

You really shouldn't be asking that on open forum either, just saying.

Ah...so is the sound better than the video release?...or was the audience audio synched to the video release? Or are they just two completely separate sources?

Thanks

The 4DF release has nothing to do with the video, they are two different things. As I have mentioned three times already in this thread, it's from a low generation audience recording.

I've quickly compared and the audience recording sounds better than the soundboard video in the end. How odd can this be?! eek

Wouldn't it be wonderful if those 3 videos were remastered and properly released? All three are so historic now! nod

It would be good yes, but I'm guessing these shows were recorded using video cameras, not using proper film, so the scope of remastering them would be pretty small. I could be wrong.

Might be indeed. Still there must be a way to have them in better quality than what we currently have nod

I think there was definitely a problem with the recording cable for the front camera on the 83 show which kept causing the interference...on FS release, the side camera is pretty darn clear

Don't know about type of camera being used - maybe ask a certain drummer what the masters look like wink

Would be a great trilogy release, with bonus disc being the Family one-off gig

If only, if only... sigh

I agree. Releasing them as a trilogy would be amazing. To be honest, I know that some are not in the best shape compared to current recordings, but I for one would be happy with these and other recorded concerts being rereleased, maybe polished to the best of their abilities and released in special sets or such.
