Glastonbury to honour David Bowie and Prince

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news...s-36201807

Sorry if in wrong forum

Prince was close to playing the Pyramid Stage a couple of times. How does it feel to know that will never happen?

Oh, it's gutting to be honest. We were so shocked and sad. It's been so close to happening for the last three years. A couple of times it's been confirmed and then not happened. It's really disappointing that he hasn't played here but it's also, obviously, a huge loss to music because he was an incredible force. Just phenomenal. There was no-one else like him on the planet.

Thanks for the latest info biggrin

The Hot Chip frontman Alexis Taylor, will pay tribute to Prince by playing a DJ set dedicated to the singer.

Taylor, a lifelong Prince fan, said his set would include some of his biggest tracks, such as Controversy, Raspberry Beret, Sign of the Times and Little Red Corvette, as well as obscurities such as an early demo of Irresistible Bitch and a track called Cloreen Bacon Skin.

“With Prince’s catalogue being so full of life and spark and energy, it feel like a nice way to celebrate him. It’s very joyous music, very passionate music,” he said.

cool

Glastonbury embodies such happy memories - it was an old favourite post exam start to the summer festivities. We used to arrive early and stay late (luckily with showers and toilets available). It would have been magic if P had played there.
