That he is stardust himself. And that he knows.
It feels spooky and human at the same time.

The song gives me goosebumps and makes my eyes tear up almost every time I hear it. I don't like to listen to it too much, in fact, in order to preserve the effect it has.
Listened to it on a roadtrip over the Memorial Day weekend for the first time in quite a while. Full blast over the car stereo while driving through the mountains. Still provoked the same response.
The piano playing, the exquisite falsetto vocal, the sparseness of the arrangment, the details in the lyrics (not many songwriters namechecking Clara Bow). Everything about it just sparkles. |
