Exactly, poor Prince NEEDED those meds to survive his pain, those other guys were just gettin high..makes me mad!!!!!

But we have no proof of that! No answers. Ugh. Some ppl say hes been doing drugs since the 80s. I would never say no to that now completely because i never thought he did any sort of drugs

--/ Do you really think he used drugs going back to the 80s and worked at the pace he did? No one thinks he never did drugs his whole life but if you read the autopsy he had scars on both his legs he had some sort of procedure done and I am thinking the problems started then. I am amazed at the sympathy.

"Letitgo"

Ready or not, here I come
(Come on)
(Come on)
All my life I've kept my feelings deep inside
Never was a reason 2 let somebody know
Lover here, lover there - Who cried? Who cared? Foolish pride
Never was a good seat at any of this man's shows

Until now all I wanted 2 do is
Do do do what I do, and
Bang bang bang on the drummer
And love so-and-so

But now I've got 2 letitgo (letitgo)
Lay back and let the vibe just flow
I wanna just letitgo (letitgo)
Lay back and let my feelings show
(letitgo)
I'm ready 4 the real
Give me something I can feel

All my life this heart's been under lock and key
My curtains were drawn there wasn't nobody home
Trigger here, Trigger there - everybody's high except 4 me
Better off dead if I couldn't be alone

Until now all I wanted 2 do is
Do do do what I do, and
Bang bang bang on the drummer
And love so-and-so

But now I've got 2 letitgo (letitgo)
Lay back and let the vibe just flow
I wanna just letitgo (letitgo)
Lay back and let my feelings show
I, I'm ready 4 the real
Give me something I can feel

4teen years and tears I've longed 2 sing my song
But a horse couldn't drag your ass 2 put me on
But now I've got an army and we're three million strong
This song will ring in your ears when we are gone

Until now all I wanted 2 do is
Do do do what I do, and
Bang bang bang on the drummer
And love so-and-so

But now I want 2 letitgo (letitgo)
Lay back and let the vibe just flow
Said I want 2 letitgo (letitgo)
Lay back and let the feelings show

I am ready 4 the real (Come a little closer)

(letitgo)
(Lay back an' let the vibe just flow

The fact that she died so suddenly and I still don't know what caused her death. Her family never told her closest friends (closer than family) what caused it. confused

And there it is. None of these addicts are in it for recreational fun. Not anymore anyway at that point. Addiction is not fun. Their drug use may have started out as a partying thing, but once you've become addicted it is a terrible burden to live with. Especially for someone like Prince who would have been so conflicted about the whole situation given his ideals about healthy lifestyles and spirituality. Then to try to conquer an addiction he was probably ashamed of would be an even more difficult undertaking. Addicts are very ill people who need complex medical and psychological treatment. For people to doubt the possibility that Prince used drugs to escape demons from his childhood is quite naive. I'm not saying he did, I'm just saying it's not that hard to understand how it could happen. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if its been an on-again, off again thing over the years then perhaps the medical need later in life pushed him over the edge to full-blown addiction. I was very angry too when drugs were first mentioned. All I could think was no goddammit, not him too. Those damn pain pills again. It made my heart sink. What a tragedy. If he could be lost to the pills anyone could be. I wanted so bad for it not to be true. I wanted so bad to not imagine the hell his life had become.

I agree. When I found out the real reason behind my mom's passing, I was pissed at her for not telling us that she was sicker than she portrayed. I was pissed at the doctors for not doing more than they did. I am upset that her and Prince are gone but I just see it as that they did their duties and now it was time for them to go home. Prince is watching over us and I feel like he's our guardian angel

I agree 100%. I think we were all upset and hurt because he passed, but God put him here to bring us joy through his music and his life and it was time for him to go home. Your mom and Prince were actually very strong to go through such pain and keep it to themselves. They were strong people.

I don't believe it was his time. I believe it was a terrible, tragic, premature end that didn't have to be. That shouldn't have had to be. He was sick and suffering yes. But there is help for his condition out there. He wasn't terminally ill. For probably lots of different reasons he didn't get the proper help soon enough. It didn't have to end this way. And I'm pretty sure this is not how or when he wanted his life to end. I'm pretty sure he didn't want this at all.

Would you say that to a Diabetic that needs an insulin injection on a daily basis?!?!?

Don't judge, lest ye be judged. Don't judge until you have walked a mile in the other man's shoes.

You are quick with your anger, but do you understand pain? I mean, REALLY understand pain? Chronic pain?!? The kind that never gives up?!? The type of pain that is with you day after day after day? The kind that gradually worsens as the days go by?!?

How much did Prince have to give for you?!? Didn't he already give enough?!?

People close to Prince have already said he was in a lot of hip pain. I couldn't/wouldn't have done the kinds of acrobatics that Prince did onstage, especially just for the fleeting approval of fans. We know what kind of damage that type of activity does to joints - that has been documented a million times over.

Have you ever broken a bone?!? Do you have an arthritic joint? Then you are only beginning to understand the demands on Prince.

Are you angry with Prince?!? You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Instead celebrate the music Prince left us. Find joy in the musical weavings that Prince left us.
RIP Prince. We will NEVER forget you. Thank you so much.

Reread the words to his songs. He was trying to tell us. Just like the disciples of Jesus didn't understand Jesus' parables, we didn't understand what Prince was trying to tell us all along.

Celebrate Prince's life. Celebrate the music that he left us.

Anger is a natural emotion that comes with death. Some people get angry at their spouse of 50 years that die of natural causes because they 'left' them. It isn't a choice, you feel what you feel. In time, reason steps in when you are ready and you move on.

I sure wish Prince didn't resort to Fentanyl, whatever the reason, but he did. We will never, ever know what was going on in his mind, so it is futile to try and figure it out.

Regardless, the anger will pass.

I agree wholeheartedly, but I wonder if he didn't have an issue with using anything that's illegal. I think that's where a lot of people's willingness to use and often overuse prescription opioids comes from; the legality gives them a false sense of security even though medical marijuana is much, much safer.

Nonsense.

Natural so called drugs are part of our experience on this earth. It has been this way for thousands of years. There are literally hundreds of herbs that will get you high.

i could never be pissed at prince for using drugs either way, recreationally or medicinally. sad it just wouldn't be fair. i'm a bit pissed at God, i guess. i wish God would have reached down with his giant loving hands, scooped prince up and rushed him to the hospital magically. although, i guess that's what actually happened in a way. sad

.

but i can't blame prince for anything at all. for one thing, i don't know what he was going through in his life spiritually and/or healthwise, for another even if i'm not wearing a fentanyl patch right now, i am not without sin...

.

but, admit i'm sad in the same way that i was sad for jimi hendrix, michael jackson, river phoenix, amy winehouse, janis joplin, and others who passed more or less this way. preventable deaths of gifted artists. sad irreplaceable, leaving a gap where they should be standing and the rest of us crying for their absence.

.

it's a bit like where hannibal lecter advises starling not to roll too deep. i think prince was a deep roller. he flew too close to the sun, drove close to the edge, and pushed himself to do impossible things. ultimately really suffered for his art.

.

i do wish he'd taken it easier on himself

we don't live natural so we can't use those things and expect the same results our ancestors did. I always draw the analogy of tobacco, the indians used it for sacred reasons and didn't abuse it, so how peopple use it today could be considered sacrilige but people do it because they are hooked, stressed, need relief and it kills and adversely affects millions of lives. You do what you want I'll do what I want. I've seen little good come from that shit but you addicts always try to paint it like it's the holy grail
