Toure discussed this in his book and he said it might have been Sharon, but there was no proof.

It was Sharon, not Lorna, he went to live with in New York. Sharon is the sister that moved to New York.

There was an interview where Prince claimed the song was true. He said it wasn't a negative song or a positive song, just a song about something that had happened. However, I believe it's also the interview where he claims he used to spend a lot of his time cycling around Uptown, nude. So that's a good chance he's lying.

However, factually the song checks out, doesn't it? When he was 16 he lived with Lorna for a time while he was looking for a record contract in New York?

.

.

I don't know about the rest of you, but it is very easy for me to believe that Prince would cycle around Uptown nude in his younger and most beautiful days. PLEASE, tell me where I can find this interview.

Incest is indeed every horrible thing it's said to be, cuz it certainly isn't said to be good.

According to Owen Husney, it's the summer/the beginning of autumn of 1976 when our dearest Princeling stayed at his sister's place in New York. So that makes him 18, right?

It doesn't necessarily mean that he had never stayed with Lorna/Sharon before that time, but at least this is not an incident that happened in New York '76.

I'm inclined to think that it's probably one of his many songs informed by pornographies but we never know. And as someone up there aptly stated, this could very well be his emotional truth. I can only imagine his upbringing sexist (his childhood coincides with the age of Madmen after all), at times violent, unstable and confusing. Poor P.sad

How does Prince "spell it out"? Does he spell it out in an interview? If so, which interview?

.

.

Prince does "spell it out" on the "Dirty Mind" album that came out in 1980. But he spells it out in the song "Uptown", not the song "Sister".

.

"What's up little girl? I ain't got time to play."
Baby didn't say too much; she said, "Are you gay?"
Kinda took me by suprise, I didn't know what to do
I just looked her in her eyes and I said, "No, are u?"
Said to myself, said

I DON'T believe not one the about this thread. His damn sister was turned out. Yeah Loosey. She put him out so she can play ding dong with Avon to get paid. Then tried to explain her side of the story of the birds and the bees so she wouldn't look like an @$$. Ain't nobody that damn stupid. Too many Avon visits can justify she being the reason for his sexuality. Saw too much. She only makes love to him - he's a teen and would be questioned as to what is sis up to.
