A Very Personal Tribute: 38 Years Under Prince's Spell

I have been a Prince fan since the very beginning and he meant more to me musically and personally than any other person, PERIOD. Also more to my family, and so have been pretty devastated. That is why it took me to long to post, had to get my bearings and try to clear my head enough to tell my own unique story about how Prince and my life have intertwined. I still can't believe what has transpired, don't want to believe.

Anyway, here is a link to my tribute and rembrance. It is so close to my heart that I am hesistant to even open up to this vulnerability and overwhelming loss, but I want and need to share it with the Org community. Please be kind and I hope aspects of it touch and resonate with you. If anyone is so inclined feel free to paste the whole thing in this thread, but it seemed too long to me for that.

Peace & 4Ever B Wild!

Thank you so much for sharing that. I thought his loss was too big for mere words but you've managed to capture how a lot of us feel so eloquently. Thank you for taking the time to go through his career chronologically and for offering a unique insight as an early fan.
Baby, that was much too fast... 1958-2016

From the beginning till the end. What a beautiful read! So many memories stirred, so much nostalgia released. Your tribute had me in tears. I love your description of the tension Prince fans carried around with them in the early years until the Purple Rain phenomenon and Prince's worldwide acceptance. I hope you find peace with Prince's departure soon. I've recently started to appreciate that he went out as a shining star irrespective of the circumstances of his death.
