When they played his voice announcing Sheila I lost it. Such a clever way to include him. Sheila and Mayte are incredibly strong to do this and not break down. So powerful, so full of love. I can only imagine how they're feeling right now.

From now on, 4 U I shall be wild πŸ’œ

It was amazing to see SHEILA BACK AT IT. That was the best thing I've ever saw. She knew him best musically and she loved that man so much. My heart hurts so much to see her cry. I'm not crazy about Mayte, it was nice to see her dancing again though, but for me, it would have sent me straight over the edge to see CAT AND SHEILA. I'm actually glad I didn't see her up there because it all would have felt too final. SHEILA AND JEROME KILLED IT! πŸ’œ

I'm wondering if that was a statement, considering how Prince performed in heels and the problems it caused.

I didn't think about that, but could be! I just can't stop watching "The Everlasting Now" performance he did with Sheila on Jay Leno. I watch it every day. She knew how to groove by Prince, which is why I think she did such a SPECTACULAR job tonight!

I noticed that, but I didn't know if it was his voice or not!! I'll have to go back and re-watch! This needs to go on YouTube, and STAY. FOREVER.

Now that I dried up my tears.....this would have been so much better just honoring him. Placing it between that other mess was brutal.....Sheila kept it together for the fans.....I found the other performances very distracting and kind of comical because they were going up against the legacy of Prince.
I was so tickled seeing them march around on that stage like the old days, I have seen that with my own eyes....I thought for sure someone would break out a tambourine in the audience....I would have cut the fool on America...I love that song maybe a bit too much lol
As far as a tribute...they could have did better with the placement..Beyonce opening was just good grief, and then all of the promotion for her and the keys the keys...DJ Khaled...I have issues with thirty and forty something yr old men men acting 17. Just ugh...Beyonce just has no soul when she sings and I think it what irritates me the most about the hype. I mean they are asking them what did you like best abou the night...man Beyonce just brought it, for real...Sheila just shut the fucking show down and the best of the show was Bey bitten choreographed so called deep performance. I felt that weight on her but as many times I have seen her perform, she NEVER disappoint.
I'm so glad Mayte was there but was disappointed no Revolution .....oh well the tears will still flow, because this really jabs my soul that my Prince is really gone.it just sucks all around.

THANK YOU SHEILA E AND THE REST OF THE CREW, WE FELT THE LOVE FOR SUREπŸŒΉπŸ’žπŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎπŸ˜

I am STILL crying.

I just wish someone could go back in time to like, the week of the Moline emergency and show Prince a tape of all this and say: "THESE are the people who love you. Mayte's gonna be on stage with Sheila E holding your guitar. Jerome's gonna be there. The twins are gonna be there. Questlove got your back. Erykah Badu is gonna sing Dorothy Parker. Janelle is gonna wear assless pants and bring the house down with her own medley... Jennifer Hudson is going to rock Purple Rain...

"Prince, invite these people over. Have a giant, week-long purple slumber party at Paisley. Tell them you love them. Talk to them. Be with them."

I dunno, it just makes you wish so hard these people had been able to be more regularly in his life before he died. And it makes me crazy to wonder what Prince would feel if he knew there was this much love there.

Imagine you could really do this, say in your dreams.

Prince would smile, and he would say, "It's ok. It's all ok. I know. I understand. It will be ok."

And then he would disappear.

No matter how hard you look, no matter how hard we try, you will probably never find another person who ever told us so often that he was going to keep moving forward, and never look back. But he hasn't really left us - we're all here, sharing this moment, and we can hear his voice all the time. It was never up to us, and we really can't ask for anything more.

Sheila E! Sheila E! Sheila E!
Blown away! Sheila definitely was channeling Prince and the energy was off the hook! To see Jerome and Sheila do the AMA handshake was so awesome! An incredible set of songs. America was stunning! Can't wait to watch this on repeat again and again...BET pulled it off in a big way!
The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

My only reason for watching the BET awards was the Prince tribute and I missed the first 2. But I must say this Jesse Williams spoke a word for real tho. I am so blown away by his speech I felt like I need to start a movement.

I will only take about the part I saw. Maxwell had me in tears-66 days. I like his revised lyrics because that is the truth. I don't know what half of the performers were saying. Maxwell was amazing.

Janelle was amazing and I really liked it. I was worried about what she would sing when I saw her but less pants but I think she selected songs in her lane and they worked for her.

Anthony Anderson was all kinds of wrong.

I loved Sheila E's performance not becuase it was Sheila E but becase she brought a lot of the folks Prince worked with. I also like the song selection that Sheila performed. I loved Mayte, Shelby, Jerome and all the other folks she had with her.

Sounds like Stephen Hill had our backs.

Now I know there were a lot of other artist that coulda shoulda or woulda-but this worked for the most part. What happened to DAngelo?

Beautiful, Loved and Blessed

Thank You Prince

I can't even deal right now I'm sitting here in awe, crying, but in awe. I get tired of ppl saying they don't understand how U can feel so much loss for someone U didn't know personally. I know ppl who lost loved ones and never even shed a tear. We're all in here losing our minds becuz of what we just witnessed and it's all becuz of the love P put out there. All those ppl on that stage will forever be bonded, just like all Prince fans are bonded out of love. And THAT is the greatest tribute and testiment someone can have for their life. Sooo very grateful right now. yes yes
