Fondest memories
Being front row at the corner during musicology tour Prince singing in my face his hand reaching out as I was trying to tell my 6 yr old daughter to touch his hand she was to scared ...then he winked and smiled at us. Those seconds felt like minutes biggrin to hear his voice that close was amazing

In CA before the show he came up to me (he was wearing all white from head to toe with his eyes showing) before the show started tapped me on the shoulder asked if my friend and I were having a good time, I said yes and it will only get better once the show starts I tapped his arm then he said I want to see you shaken it tonight and he did the same back to my arm...was a great show!!!

The music.

This and my Musicology ticket stub. It's the only time I saw him in concert. I almost made it to the PR tour but family issues prevented that. His music/voice though is what made me a fan and that will be with me as long as I live wink

Awesome. Funny, I always thought you saw him multiple times.

fondest memory: One night during the Diamonds and Pearls shows in Rotterdam I was standing first row. At some point during the show he was playing his portable keyboard (Purple Axe). Then he put the keyboard on the floor, sat down on the floor with his back to the audience while jamming on it. I think I was 1m away, and it was great to see hime play from that distance.

fondest posession: A blouse Prince wore at a Nude Tour show (1990-06-03). A security guy took it from the stage and threw it in the audience and for once I was quick enough to grab it.

Wow..do you have any pics if it?

It's a very thin, see thru blouse really designed to wear on stage. The left side is black, the other white. It has a silhouette kind of face painted on it. Probably hand-made for him, with oval buttons and gold colored plastic manchette buttons with plastic 'diamonds'. When I had it hanging in my room the whole room smelled like lavender for weeks. smile

I don't have pictures of it. It is stored in my parents place and I live in Australia. Next time I go there I'll make pictures.

heart 13 Sept 2007 Aftershow London IndigO2: Prince's gaze in my eyes, his sweet voice talking to me, asking me to come onstage, his hand around mine, a brief thank you whispered in his ear, his other hand on my waist... *him* watching me dance and playing guitar in front of me... how can anyone live a normal life after that? heart

Sigh

Thanks for explaining. I'll bet it was just amazing to have it in your room with the fragrance as well

Fondest memory...the second time I saw Prince in concert was in Richmond, Virginia. I think it was the LoveSexy tour, but I’m not 100% sure about that. Anyway, Prince started talking to the audience saying how he thinks he’ll start lip-syncing. Everyone in the crowd starting shouting “Noooo!!!”. He was like “Why not, everybody else does.” Again, we all shouted “Noooo!!” Then he was like “Fuck that!” and broke out with Scandalous and Damn U…he tore the house completely down! I still get chills thinking about it!

What, you just lucked up and the 777 prefix was available in your area?

Purple with envy cool

Yeah, there are ways to be able to pick the last six digits, so I waited until a prefix came up ending in 7.

I'm now 45, and I still get a kick out of giving out my phone number, even when most people don't get it. I never say, 'triple seven, nine three, double one'. It always say, 'seven seven seven ninety three eleven!'

The guitar intro is also my ring tone. lol

FUNKYNESS

I am sitting front row center int he NPG music club section at the 2nd night of the One Nite Alone tour at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. Prince is doing his routine where he asks someone in the front row if they are a follower or a leader and telling them to give up something. He is doing it with some white chick a few seats down on the right side of the stage and asks her will she give up her seat to that brother right there - aand points directly at me! I was sitting right in front of his guitar rack which was on the floor with us in front of his center stage mic stand. Being acknowledge out of a crowd was crazy - if it is was completely random. My seat was the best one in the house so I didnt really want to move but I did while he pulled the chick up onstage. I promptly went back to my seat after the little exercise was done.

FUNKYNESS

I was front row of the Musicology Tour in Philly - I forget which show. Near the middle of the show, the lights were low as Blackwell took a solo. Prince had disappeared on elevator in the middle of the stage. I could see the stage door about 15 years away as the stage was about 10 feet off the floor and was in the round. A small figure in white came out of it and started handing something to the people in the front row. It took me 2 minutes to figure it was Prince since it was to dark to see. Eventually, people way up in the rafter s of the Spectrum started to realize it was him - go around the stage and handing what I thought were flyers to the fans. He came to me and I said "May I have one, Prince?" I am 6ft tall and his head came up to the middle of my chest - he was ony a foot away and he handed me a Watchtower magazine. NPG Music Club had just paid off in spades for me as it got front row in several shows in Las Vegas, LA, Sacramento, and DC (on various tours). THis was as close as I was going to get to meeting Prince. I still have that Watchtower and it is probably the premier piece in my 35 year old Prince collection because it is the one thing that was given to me directly by Prince.

FUNKYNESS

I was the first one at the door waiting to get into a gen adm club gig in DC when Prince was featuring Tamar. (Little did I know this would be the last time I would see him alive). People thought I was security because I was right there at the door before everyone started showing up - the place was only a few blocks from my apartment so I was not going to be fighting a club crowd for the best spot in front of the stage. Prince was doing this thing where he would hand his Telecaster to someone in the front row after peeling everyone's cap back on a solo. This night, he walked up and handed it directly to me. I had never seen him do this in my 20+ years of going to Prince shows. I didnt know what it meant as he just walked offstage and left me holding it! It only took about 3 seconds for about 40 people to jump on my back trying to touch it but I had a death rip on it. I didnt think I had any opportunity of getting out of there with it but if there going to be one, I was going to seize it. It was like hugging Gabriel Union naked: I was going to feel it as long as I could before someone took it away. The security guy was standing directly in front of me on the other side of the retaining wall and he took it. It didnt look like I could take him so I let him have it. Later that night I watch where Prince dropped one of his monogrammed guitar picks and ask the security guard if he would hand it to me. It was thrashed. I still have it in my collection to remind me of the time I got to hold Prince's legendary Telecaster.
