No Tribute Performance Will Ever Do Prince Justice

It doesn't matter if it's an associated artist or some current chart-topper.

No matter the performance it won't be Prince.

Period.

Correct. I agree 100%. All these tributes irritate me.

Someone in one of the other threads said it well. A tribute is just that...a tribute. It's not about bringing him back onstage. All we can do is try to do is enjoy it.

Thinking you are probably right about that.

Welcome to "the org", Mumio…they can have you, but I'll have your love in the end nod

Agree!
When a tribute is being done, for me I feel the hurt and emptiness all over again.

I feel like Sheila and the other folks he helped to make famous could come close. Such a shame that they haven't had a chance yet to do that.

Tributes are always a letdown and pointless IMO. A tribute would be airing the artist doing his/her own music. A video montage would do the trick. Cover tributes are often a cynical attempt to gain publicity in association with another's fanbase. When a tribute is done for an actor you don't have other actors imitating the one who is receiving tribute, do they?

Yep, some co-workers asked me if I saw the tribute. "Of course not" I answered. Who has time for such nonsense.

Anyone who tributes Prince will be a lesser performer.

I've had enough tributes, thank you. Even the tribute Prince attended was a meh moment with Prince reacting with

Now, back to watching Prince tribute himself. prince
