BBC Radio tributes

Don't know if many of you are aware but BBC radio (Radio 1, 2, 4 & 6music ) has done quite a few tributes to Prince and other little nuggets, some of which are worth a listen to before they're made obsolete...

Just about to try out Benjy B which looks interesting...

Finished listening to Benjy B's tribute which has got some rare stuff like Purple Rain (Strings and Piano Only Version), I miss u (Instr.), Wouldn’t You Love 2 Love Me (Outtakes), Wonderful A** (Demo), Purple (Jamie 326 Edit), Jelly Jam (Instrumental), How Come U Dont Call Me Anymore (Live in Detroit 1982), I Wanna be Your Lover (Dimitri From Paris Edit), Wet Dream Cousin, Visions amongst others. Good little listen and a surprise all this stuff is up there on a BBC radio website.

Thank you. I'm quite shocked how little I've seen of Prince on British TV, other than the Purple Reign documentary and sign of the times I thought there would be more. Nice to see BBc radio showing some Prince love, I'll listen when I get in later

Yeah, UK TV gave a lot of coverage at the time of his passing, but - surprisingly - nothing since. Hopefully there might be something in the pipeline, or some time given to put together something of quality.

.

6Music is seen by many as the station for the discerning music listener and regularly throw up the lesser played of Prince's canon. Their tributes were off the chart, so I doff my cap to these cats.

music

Listening to the show - headphones are 'ON'.

V cool tribute - kinda strange to hear these gr8 tracks 'WA', 'purple music', CBS', etc via radio after so many years of listening to boots...and wishing back then that were officially released.. played these tracks incessantly in my younger days. Really reliving the past right now...

Hope all the unreleased tracks are treated properly and left untouched if eventually released..

God Bless Prince
