When Prince toured in Spain, the bulls ran from him.

Prince went to see The Matrix but walked out halfway through it...he could already do all that stuff that Neo was doing.

No weirdness intended, nor any disrepect. Mourning for three weeks straight for a person I've never met has convinced me that continuing to write about pain is not going to help, even though tomorrow I may feel again that I need to write about pain. Prince has been my favorite artist since I was 13, 31 years. The man was freaking incredible, an artist recognized for genius and still somehow underestimated and underappreciated for a good part of his career. So I'm going to appreciate him, even if some of the claims on this thread may have not be 100% validated.

I'm drawing this thread to a close, it was a better idea in my head I think than in practice. Prince was interesting in a way that celebrities are not interesting anymore. Maybe it was because of the privacy and limited interaction with the public through most of his career, creating the sense of an event when he did do something. Most celebrities are overexposed; Prince was prolific but made his public appearances count. Prince was interesting because he had a different style, a different hairdo, a different wardrobe for many of his albums but it wasn't a gimmick. It was a natural expression of where he was at the time and he wore the clothes for more than just album covers. Prince was interesting because behind this fascinating persona, he was doing things to help so many other people, helping save school music programs, buying solar panels, teaching the youth that real instruments matter. Prince was interesting because he knew how to give a look, the "sit down and let me explain something to you look" that he used on talk shows and other appearances that was just damn funny every time he did it. And the swagger, the George Jefferson walk off a stage after he just tore it up, the walkaway after the RRHOF performance is priceless. Prince had style, Prince was cool, and he was interesting enough to have the many interesting people on this site check in to see what he would do next. If there is a celebrity out there who thinks he is as interesting as Prince was, let him take the mantle (sit down Kanye!). Otherwise, Seacrest out (drops the mike) and end of thread.

Prince is so badass he strutted into the studio and recorded the drums for the first four songs on Parade live, consecutively, in a single take.

Prince was so interesting that he has award shows fighting over who will do the best tribute to him (okay, last one I promise).

Bringing this thread back for an encore today. Have been so sad this week. Trying to find a little light today.
