Voice of a Generation

I was just thinking about how many people I know who are so devastated with the loss of Prince.

It got me thinking- I'm not sure exactly where Prince falls on the genX / baby boomer chart, probably a tweener I imagine but...

Does anyone else feel like maybe Prince was the voice of Gen X? He's touched so many people from this group - I am really surprised with how many people I know who felt so connected to him (they always said they liked him but I surprised how sad some of them still are). I know probably not just genX - but we were the latch key kids who were babysat by MTV and watched this genius man fight corporate rock, diss racism, fight for what's right... Etc etc.

I've struggled for awhile to determine who that person is that defines this generation, I think Prince is it. Hands down.

I wish we would have embraced him more as such. or did we and I just was too busy embracing him alone to notice? What do you Purps think?

Further, is GenX the New Power Generation or are we raising the NPG?
Surprise, surprise.
Another treat. Another trick.
