He may have had something in his system that he didn't have a prescription for. May not be a simple OD. |

I need somebody damn license to be taken away While I understand the sentiment, unless Minnesota has specific and unusual laws, doctors cannot forcibly hospitalize someone except for very specific circumstances (which do NOT include drug addiction). I see multiple drug addicts among my patients every day, and unless they WANT P go into the hospital for detox or go to a rehab facility, they can't be forced to go. Similarly, I've had clients who clearly are in severe physical distress and need hospitalization, but they refuse to go, and unless they meet very specific criteria, they can't be forced. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.
Sex is not love. Love is not sex. Putting words in other people's mouths will only get you elected. Need more sleep than coke or methamphetamine. | |

Oh my, i can't get my head round any of this. This is all so surreal. Again...i would rather have had somebody out him than all this scandalous stuff right now. Then he could have gone to rehab and possibly gotten better. Another thing..why was the Dr bringing test results from the day before. What kind of results need that special attention? Thank you Prince for being U! | |

Friends and family can petition the mental health court to have a probate of detention order issued, in which case the probate judge reviews the case and if the judge deems it appropriate, they send sheriff's deputies out to pick up the patient and forcibly bring them to a mental hospital. Again, I don't practice in Minnesota, and these laws vary somewhat from state to state, but in Ohio probate orders are not approved for drug dependence/addiction issues. Usually they are reserved for unmedicated schizophrenics or people who are actively suicidal and have both the means and intent. Based on what we know so far (which, admittedly, is not much) Prince could not have been forced to go to the hospital against his will. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

Investigators brought a large suitcase on wheels into the compound, big enough to hold the paper trail they're following. Fans, like Dan Hedrick, who watched also wondered, "you would think there should be something they can look at this doctor giving drugs to him." Multiple law enforcement say the DEA is probing the link between Prince and the addiction doctor in California, if someone else gave Prince the narcotics and if Prince was using his real name or an alias to get painkillers. Authorities are searching for paperwork to support their theory, including records like canceled checks, credit card charges and statements, bank documents and examining Prince's medical history, even his personal relationships.
