Help with SOTT tracks on Box O' Chocolates boot

I've been trying to discern the reasons why The Ballad of Dorothy Parker and Starfish and Coffee are included on the stellar Box O' Chocolates boot from a couple years ago. Starfish and Coffee lacks the alarm clock effect at the beginning, which is how the song existed prior to the final SOTT configuration, but I can't find any other differences between the version on the bootleg and the released version. And with The Ballad of Dorothy Parker, I've listened closely with headphones to find any noticeable differences between the bootleg and the released version and struggle to find anything of note aside from the slightly lesser audio quality on the bootleg.
.
Anyone know of any differences that I'm missing?

There are no differences. I assume there on there because this is a mixtape (configured by Prince) of stuff he was working on at the time. In a similar vein to Charade.

Never knew this was a mixtape compiled by Prince himself. It's all material from 85-86 but I thought it was just better sourced material that had already surfaced in one form or another save for the 2 tracks I mentioned.

I'm not saying that's definitley the case. But I'm assuming the Chocolates bootleg was a cassette tape left in a limo he rented or something along those lines.

Is "Box Of Chocolates" basically the same thing as the "Chocolate Box" boot that came out in the eighties?

No... that boot in the late 80's was much poorer quality and different tracks and different mixes on some of them. And on vinyl originally. My first boot! then came Charade. Also on vinyl. (I'm not counting Black Album which would technically be the first boot I bought).

Are the "Chocolate Box" tracks available anywhere in better quality? It was my first boot, along with "The Royal Jewels" 3LP box. I loved those boots!

It's not a compilation put together by Prince. IIRC, this collection was inspired by the old Choc Box boot, hence the inclusion of the two tracks in question. It's all sourced from tapes.

The vinyl was awesome for it's time but due to the quality doesn't hold up.

The more recent Box O' Chocolates boot is FANTASTIC!! A must have for sure.

Well I don't know if the exact mixes have surfaced in better quality, but I know there was one interation of them that sounded better than the vinyl. It's hard to keep track of the thousands boots these days.

Yeah that 3 record vinyl was where I first heard "Expert Lover" wink and also Rebirth of the Flesh if I remember correctly. It had that 3 headed Prince painting.

The cover of the set that I have looks like it is from the "Purple Rain" tour. He has flowers by his face, I think.

It was an inside sleeve with the painting. Wasn't it a box?
