PRINCE : Tribute Concert 6/7/16 - Dream Setlist

I feel if there is ever going to be a perfect moment for a tribute concert it would b on PRINCE's 58th birthday on June 7th. I would love to see the following people pay tribute in a televised concert. Here is my Setlist :

Alicia Keys - How come U don't call me anymore ?
Rihanna - Darling Nikki
Beyoncé - The Beautiful Ones
D'Angelo - She's Always in my Hair
Chaka Khan - I feel 4 U
Sheila E. - The Glamerous Life
Susannah Hoffs - Manic Monday
Rosie Gaines - Diamonds & Pearls
Patti LaBelle - Purple Rain
The Time - Jungle Love
Beck - Rasberry Beret
Madonna - When Doves Cry
Janelle Monea' - Let's go crazy
Wendy & Lisa - Mountains
Stevie Wonder - Nothing Compares 2 U
Sheena Easton - U got the Look
Nicole Schizenger - Nasty girl
Bono - The Cross
Kendrick LaMarr - Sexy Mutha
Rita Ora - Do me Baby
George Clinton - Erotic City

2b4UnI - A Time 2 Heal

personally would have the likes of rita ora, Schizenger or rihanna near it. Even Keys is pushing it for me. Not enough talent. Apart from Keys, the others are known more for 'celebrity' than music.

look at the Gaga bowie tribute car crash - nasty.

..

Would rather someone like Bruno Mars, at least he can partially play an instrument. How about Springsteen?

Smokey Robinson?

Larry Graham?

the remaining Earth Wind & Fire?

Tevin Campbell?

The Roots?

..

The rest i'm ok with (except I'll always hate bono haha)

A really well thought out list, based on what songs we know the artists like. I wouldn't stray to far from it (dream list I know), but I'd change:

1. Nothing Compares 2 U should be allowed for The Family.
2. Give Stevie Sign O The Times.

3. Add Mavis Staples Time Waits 4 No One

4. Get Bruce and to do When U were Mine

5. Get Lenny to do America.

6. Change the running order. We ain't finishing with George on Erotic City wink

Cyndi Lauper would be a wonderful addition.

I don't have a dream setlist. I only had those for Prince.

There are people that I like that I think would be appropriate.

For instance:

Jamie Lidell

Van Hunt

Herbie Hancock

Wallace Roney

Joni Mitchell

Stevie

Bootsy

Carlos

Chaka

D'Angelo

Eric Leeds

F Deluxe (I know, Eric's in this, but he deserves his own mention)

Morris and The Time

Jill Jones

Sheila

The Revolution

The original NPG musicians

That's all I've got.

I would add the Funky Bald Heads to this list. Also, Mint Condition.

Was it her who slagged him off on a TV interview before backtracking and claiming it was a joke? (When it obviously wasn't)

I like the original list but I would add or change:

Mavis has to do Time Waits for Nobody

Tevin needs to do Round and Round and Shhhh(cuz he is grown now)

Mint Condition needs to be there on gp

If Patti comes she should do Yo Mista

And I have to say, I still prefer Stephanie Mills version of How Come U Don't Call Me

Mica Paris can do If I Luv U 2nite

Living Color can do a rocking version of 17 days

I would love to her Chris Stapleton

Bonnie Raitt can do I Can't Make You Love Me

Purple Rain should be all star sing along with Prince from the Movie.

Just my thoughts
