Watch your mouth.

What's the big surprise, this is rock'n'roll. Good thing you're not a Led Zep fan, you couldn't take it.

Prince comes out as a total square when compared to Mötley Crüe, Aerosmith, the Rolling Stones, even the Beatles banged every groupie in sight before they got married.
Most of the bands are in it for the pussy.

Lock this thread, it's tasteless.

I remember reading in one of the bio-books that Wendy confronted P about his "womanizing ways" while he was dating Susannah. They heard "Forever In My Life" and thought that was his way of proposing to Susannah. Guess not!

He actually did propose to Susannah and gave her a ring. She also lived with Prince for a while. Until he bought her her own place not far from him and put her in a Big Tall Wall. I guess it was like his relationship with Susan Moonsie (Private Joy) he wanted her exclusively but did not want to be exclusive.

A lot of men want it that way. I'm sure it was tough as a woman to stick to your guns with a man as enigmatic as P. I mean hell, run of mill dudes get away with it all the time. I'on know if I would have been woman enough to walk away from P's charms even though he had umpteen women. He'd flash dem eyes at me and it would have been over.

Um, the ladies in Prince's life were very much part of the mystique and the "lore" of this man's body of work. Please don't front - this forum has enough folks on it who are begging for their feelings to take center stage right now.

What is taste? I didn't ask what they did in the bedroom. I asked how the girls managed to be civil to each other while all sleeping with the same dude. This has nothing to do with groupies - this has to do with members of his actual band and whose affection for Prince was put on display countless times. Don't act like Prince didn't fuel the fire of speculation. This is not meant to disrespect Prince or anyone else in his camp and it's tedious for you to suggest it.

Fair enough, lol. I can't say I wouldn't have if I were in the same position. I think between the affection, the songs, and the live shows, he was a very big draw in that regard. I imagine two musicians being in love (or lust) would really enjoy those 3 things together.

I LOVE THIS THREAD!

Somewhere in the Koran it says that a man should have;

.

one wife or four

.

I am paraphrazing here of course.

.

If you have one wife there is harmony.

.

If you have two wives, there is a junior wife and a senior wife and this creates conflict.

.

If you have three wives, two of them will become friends and they will pick on the other one.

.

If you have four wives, they all joint forces and gang up on you (the husband). This creates harmony.

.

God bless them all.

nod & Susan

Don't laugh and call me naive if you want, but for all these "girlfriends" has any one of them officially said they had sex with him? Every interview that I've seen the women said "He respected me and my feelings". Maybe that's why they did seem to get along on stage and everything because they didn't sleep with him so they really had no reason to be mad and didn't want the others to know they didn't also sleep with him. Just a thought. I know I probably have that disease......

^ It also says it is okay to have sex with 12 year olds! WTF up! Your logic is flawed and Sexist. They put up with it because they were young & had little if any self-esteem, or were drawn to him for money/power/fame, or what he could do for them. He used them for his purposes (appearance/to promote his music/brand) as they used him. It's called Patriarchy and yes compared to other out and out rapists Rock "stars" he was a Saint. So what? Two wrongs don't make a right. If the females involved were over 18 when he became physical with them then they are responsible for their decisions. His grooming of them before that is distasteful (none the less) but he didn't do anything against the law; as if that is any kind of a moral arbitrator. it seems he had issues from his own childhood (as we all do) and like most males under Patriarchy liked to enjoy the benefits of his privilege no matter whom he hurt.

Also, wrong forum.

How many threads does this site need of this kind of garbage? Do folks really not care that those people are human beings and may come across this shit? Or their mothers?

I just don't get it. It's why people leave forums like this -- and why associated artists NEVER come here to provide valuable insight to working with Prince. They might come here thinking about it, but as soon as they run into a thread like this one -- they leave.

It's really too bad -- because it's not like the site doesn't have moderators.

I always thought prince wanted to marry susannah..that was the public impression anyway. Them I recently read that it was her that put that rumour out. I was surprised to say the least.

For one thing it was a different time. For another, things get, er, complicated when you're dealing with artistic personalities. The girlfriends, many of them, also had boyfriends, if you know what I mean.

That's the impression I got. A lot of time few were dating anyone exclusively. Probably little was done in the conventional sense.

Prince definitely had a powerful effect on women. Just look at the Mel B interview. She was falling for him over the course of 30 minutes. By the end, she didn't want to leave and was looking for excuses to see him again. "We should do a movie together. I'm serious." Prince laughs and escorts her to her car. But then again Jamie Foxx almost fell under his spell, too. lol

I always wondered about this subject too and I guess they just had to all get along. It seems in some of the pics of Sheila E. She's making a certain face while next to other girls. Especially Kat. We all like to think Vanity was the one that got away but I feel Sheila was the perfect match. They both were musicians and worked so much together it would have been just natural. Like most men of power Prince chose to go young with Myte.

Take it easy. I was just making the point that the girlfriends might have all gotten along fine. I think that it is sexist to label every woman who is not the jealous or possessive type as someone who has low self esteem. Women who have high self esteem are not that insecure, and they can do what they want regardless of the cultural norms. And yes we live in a patriarchal culture. Show me a culture that isn't patriarchal. And as for him grooming sixteen year olds to be future girlfriends or wives, the girls had two years to get to know him and think about it. That is a pretty long courtship.

Mel B says that she stayed at Paisley Park for 3-4 days. And I'm not mad at her. And Prince was married, too. Maybe Mayte was living in Spain by that time.

True. They may not have been seeking marriage, but if they hung around for years I'm sure they would have appreciated a bit of exclusivity on his part. Then again, some may have just wanted to be a part of it all, especially the bedroom part!

I have wondered this, too.

It seems that back in the 80's and 90's, people were more quiet about personal lives. Now a days, everyone talks. I don't know how it never came out though, anything regarding his love life. Unless they all signed a disclosure agreement, it is fascinating that none of them fought with one another, there were no tell-alls. In fact, just the opposite happened. No one talked and all only have nice things to say about him! Kind of surprising for what seems to be a lot of overlap in his dating world.

I agree it is somewhat puzzling. Especially when there was an official girlfriend. But I have completely lost track of girlfriends and muses along the way. LOL

We were probably more modest back then so that could perhaps explain why no-one talked. I can't remember knowing details about other "busy" superstars either, but maybe that was just me. cool

I know the women from the 80's all attended Denise's memorial, they were there for Denise and also seemed very happy to be together again and they said Sheila would have beeen there but she already had concerts scheduled...whatever happened back then, 30 years later they still came to say there goodbyes to Denise and some traveled together as well to be there.

.

Also, i want to add the fact that Prince NEVER had a child (besides Ahmir i mean) was amazing to me, with all the women he f'ed and in many cases overlapped..how did they not produce babies?????

.

Most musicians, from all genres not just rock, have multiple kids with, in many cases......multiple women. Craaaaazy!
