Prince's life summarized b4 1984

Hello, thank you all for being here.As a bi-racial "lost child" Prince was part of my life since 1978 when I was 9. He was a hero for my parents who were attempting to intertwine their very polarized cultural lifestyles into a coherent perspective for my siblings and I. His music "For You" and every album after that until "Purple Rain" was daily background noise in our home. And so I've been shattered since his death...and I have felt stupid, angry and frustrated as I couldn't explain to others why Prince's life had such an impact on me.

And I felt guilty too, for I think the last album I bought (a bootleg) was The Black Album in '92 plus I never got to see him in concert. So why did he impact my life so much? Well, besides listening to him daily from ages 9-23 I felt could identify with so much of his life story particularly as a person who lived life as an underdog. And now post-mortem (RIP Prince) as a person who lives life in chronic pain and whom was supposedly cured from childhood epilepsy. I also had an OD experience from Percosets -not because I was taking too many but because it triggered a seizure (which I had not had in 20 plus years) that led to respiratory distress but luckily someone was with me and 911 EMTs revived me with oxygen and got me to a hospital just as another seizure started thankfully doctors saved my life.

Anywho, I stumbled upon this great summary posted on the web decades ago by someone who I don't know I still felt I should share it. It's entitled "Prince: A Pop Life" by a man named Gordon Matthews who might be on this org. But it's such a wonderful read which bears light on Prince's life before he became super famous.
