Billboard

Comedian and friend to Prince Arsenio Hall recently revealed he was privy to the knowledge of Prince's health problems before the singer had passed. "I was aware of hip pain that he had," Hall told Access Hollywood.

I'm sorry, but it seems like all these people knew Prince so intimately, and knew of his problems, pain, etc, yet none of them bothered to help him, or spoke to him about his troubles? That just kind of irks me, because I know that if I knew someone that was close to me, and I knew that they were hurting in some manner, or even hurting themselves, I would at least attempt to talk to them about it, no matter if they were a private person or not. If Prince was this sweetheart, kind person to them that all of them are coming forth and saying he was, then why not help him or try to? I'm sorry, but this is just getting on my nerves.

You cannot make a person take any action in their life. we dont know what convos were had and which ones werent and who had what kinds of convos with him and when. No matter how close you are to somone health is something that most people are generally private about so it's not necessarily something that you harp on. prince handled things the way he wanted to and in the way(s) he thought was best.

I know that you can't make a person do anything, and I know that Prince was a fiercely private person, I guess it's just getting on my nerves because all these people are coming out about being his friend, and knowing him so well, and knowing of his pain and using pills to cope with the pain, yet not one of them ever talked to him about it? I just find that kind of strange, that's all.

I totally feel where youre coming from. what im trying to say is we just dont know, you know? who would even think to tell someone hey slow up on those pills if ur not even aware that its a problem? taking paiin killers is such a normalized thing especially when your body is deteriorating in the way that it sounds likekk princes body was. thats the downfall i suppose of being SO private. even your closest friends sometimes have no idea. if the pain killer thing is true then i take solace in the reports that he had checked into an outpatient program. and who knows? maybe that was on the recommendation of a friend.

^^@PurpleMusic07, I understand what you're saying. It's just so annoying to me as a Prince fan, us not knowing anything except for the fact that he is dead, and every day something being said about this or that concerning him, and us not knowing what is true or false.

Wait, we all know our friends have health issues, but that doens't mean that we are ttrained or fully know how to help them. We are not doctors, and I am sure most of his friends are not either. We can't really blame the people around him becaue they know of his ailments. IT was up to hiim also to deal with it.

We don't knwo the extent to what they knew or if indeed Prince had a problem.

We all knew he was in pain. That was common knowledge.

The media is saying he had a pill problem, that may or may NOT be true.

Until the toxicology report comes out and even then, we won't truly know what caused the end of his life.

He took pain killers, like millions of people everyday. Did he have a problem??? The only person that truly knows that is Prince and he can't say.

At the end of the day, he is a person with his own beliefs and ways to live and how maybe he wants to live the rest of his life. WE also do not know that "pills" killed him. We all had heard of his injuries back then, I mean he got hurt in 1998 in AC and cancelled shows, also we do not know for a fact he EVEN had the surgery. Listening to Jimmy Jim he said Morris Day had it and told Prince he should that he felt great after it, but PRINCE may not have even had it. Notice how after a certain point PRINCE stop doing certain moves on stage, stopped the heels, I noticed that on the MUSICOLOGY tour that he was wearing these high tops instead, so WE ARE NEVER gonna know his pain, and we all deal in our own way. What Killed him, we do not know, we may never really know the Truth, let's face that fact.

Most of these people are Hollywood people. They have that fake Hollywood love for each other. The kind that looks good in print and on the screen. If I knew of the issues, I would have done and said sometihng - whether he liked it or not. My love for him would require that I did something. I loev Prince; not just the way he played guitar or sang; not just the way he wrote and directed; not just the way he did business; not just his courage and strength and wisdom. I love him - the toality of Prince; all of him that I know. That is why I would take any risk to my relationship with him (if I had one) if I thought it was necessary to save him. Hollywood friends wouldnt.

Yeah, like Jerry Lewis' years of slapstick pratfalls caused him a lot of pain later in life, Prince's years of jumping off the piano (Prince injured his ankle from that in 1998), and doing the pike jump which is jumping with his legs straight and touching his feet with his hands in the air, and the splits, etc. all in high heeled boots, must have caused Prince a lot of pain in his ankles, legs, hips, back, etc. especially later in life.

Goodnight, sweet Prince.

Aresenio didn't know Prince from Alfalfa. He didn't even have Prince's phone number to book him on his comeback show. He was going around whining to the press, about how he had reached out to Prince for an appearance, but Prince didn't agree to do the show until it was virtually cancelled. Elisa Fiorrelo has Prince's phone number. But Princee told Arsenio he didn't even have a phone! That's how much Prince wanted to be bothered with Aresnio: 'Prince can I get yo number?' "I ain't got no phone."

I agree...IMHO just from what we've seen his family wasnt close therefore he had no one he could rely on when it counted. What Family member would leave their love one when they know they've been gravely sick? Who does that? eek I think they weren't close thats for sure. Truly sad if Prince had been my brother I wouldnt give a damn what he said I wouldve been there. Majority werent close and some he hadnt seen in years and they live in the same city neutral

I said before my knee is messed up from years of being a nurse...this man jumped off shit all the time...Common sense tells you he needed joints replaced and if not he was in alot of pain for years which is truly sad...cuz he did that for us.

I was just showing my daughter what he was really like:).

One thing, I seem sad about....I know he loved to perform, etc. I know we all get older and get pains, bad back, knees, hips, etc...But he did this CRAZY showmanship for US his fans...We loved it. Not that I feel responsible for his later pain, (hip issues) and I don't know of thie pain is going to turn an issue in all of this..BUT..IF it does, He did this for his fans....We are so fortunate to have expereinces him in our lifetime.

Other than Tyka & Duane I never heard of any of the half sibs being in the picture. I do recall Cat saying she met Omar with P's Mum one time at PP or a show or something, but that was back in the late 80's. I always got the impression P had nothing 2 do with his Dad's kids (other than Duane).
