SNL Tribute question

Hi.

.

OK so it feels odd, not 3 days after Prince left us, SNL it seems aired some previously unreleased footage of prince playing after one of their shows earlier, last Saturday. And I'll have to add this as the first post mortem official release of music on the discog website.

.

The whole show is available on NBC.com (http://www.rollingstone.com/tv/news/watch-snl-remember-prince-with-hour-long-episode-20160424) but of course, as with so many other content, this isn't accessible from india where I currently live.

.

The whole video was also posted on 22 april on YT, on SNL alumni's Tim Kazurinky's channel. I'm not sure whether I should consider it an "official" release or not but I guess not, though I assume it was tacitely endorsed by NCB. However according to another Rolling Stone article the 6:34 video may or may have not been aired in its entirety, it's unclear to me the way it was written.

.

I would be grateful if anyone who is able to access NBC.com or have seen the show can tell me if the video was posted as a whole or not and, if not, how long it was on SNL.

.

Sorry to bother y'all with this in those strange days but the discography project, along our lives and our passion for Prince, has to stay alive.

.

hug y'all

It was almost the complete performance. Clip faded in with Prince and 3RDEYEGIRL having just begun "Let's Go Crazy". Celebrities onstage included Emma Stone, Martin Short, the lead singer of Arcade Fire, Chris Rock, Maya Rudolph, Haim and Jimmy Fallon (the latter four did some back-up vocals).

Clip runtime was 5:44.

If you can download the NBC iPhone app, you could watch it there until May or June (or something like that). Likewise with NBC Roku app or any device that has the NBC app.

Thanks a lot but I'm confused.

The video of previously unaired material that was posted online IS the whole Let's Go Crazy (6:34 mn long). Therefore it seems to indicate what was aired at the SNL Special was something else? What song was played before LGC?eek eek eek

I also found a 5:45 footage of the same thing (filmed from a different angle) but with an NBC logo so I guess it was recorded from the show. But it's still LGC eek

The app won't work outside the US anyway.

It's totally fair to use a VPN like Tunnel Bear to route your connection through the US, that's how I watched it ads and all.

I think it's that new one I just found on YT so no need then. Was what you saw Let's Go Crazy?

Yeah - there's two videos from the same event, the YT I saw first. The one on SNL was from a different angle with better sound.

But, yes, Let's Go Crazy

I'm confused as to what you're confused about. confuse

I'm talking about what was aired on the SNL special. It was 5:44 of "Let's Go Crazy" (clip faded in with the song already in progress and ended with the completion of the song).

Damn! I had read faded out instead of faded in, hence my confusion lol

Thanks for the precision biggrin hug

I saw a version on You Tube from the other side of the audience and it showed P quickly warm up and say dearly inebriated before launching into Let's go crazy. And you could see more of the audience at one point.
