Anyone else getting fed up of "Prince was killed by the illumnati" and "he's still alive" posts on social media?

It would be nice if people could just stick to the few facts that we have right now.

Making his death or disappearance fantastical is a way to reconcile the fact that it's very strange that he's gone. If it is strange that he's gone, then logic would dictate it should be for a strange reason. Not eine common boring old flu or an accidental overdose. Too common for our guy.

I totally get it and even I would prefer a hoax to this. But that's mean to us all. I don't see him being that mean.
No matter the ©️, Paisley Park "official can never ™️ prince. He gave that to us verbally on Oprah in 1996. You can't take prince away from us, corporate. I mean O ( + >

This kind of myth will arise around figures in pop like this, including of course personas like royalty or presidents, or even negative people like notorious terrorist leaders. Mass Trauma + legendary status or scale = conspiracies.

Legends.

I've not brought this up, but back in 1993, I was sletching out notes for a film script based on Prince. where a woman named (well he renames her, "Fantasia) is in a local band trying to get big. She enters and wins a contest by a Prince figure to be produced, and then does become a big star chased by fans, and with all the drama that breaks her relationship with her high school sweetheart.

Throug it all she keeps watching and meeting back with the legend Prince figure that started her (backstage or at after parties).

In the end he dies, and she has a quiet moment in his massive studio complex, but then sees one sign by the piano that he was still alive. That he faked his death. Then a great song would start and the credits would roll.

I still have all these notes! It's fiction ya'll. I was discouraged from writing it out as a script (it's just notes scribbled in a notebook) because at that time two movies came out: "That Thing You Do" and another indie crime movie (I can't remember the name) that starts with a home invasion, and the lead is a young woman named Fantasia.

Let's be honest, he's earned the conspiracy theories more than any other public figure in recent memory.

He created a passionate, loyal fanbase by speaking through esoteric ways. He used symbolic meaning. He connected the dots between obscure esoteric, somewhat occult, concepts (Camille as a transgender persona= achieving enlightenment by uniting the genders). For decades he wrote songs about conspiracies and spoke in interviews about his beliefs. He continued sharing his new-age/occult like beliefs even after becoming a devout JW.

I guess you could consider these things as attempts at controversy for publicity, but when you do it for decades it points to a personal belief system... not just a shocking way to stay in the news. These types of things don't have widespread appeal - they certainly didn't expand his fanbase. Perhaps he earned publicity and interest for his shocking beliefs, not that he put forth shocking statements to earn publicity. Remember - during the 80s his WB handlers were very reluctant to let him speak to the press.

I'm not saying he was/wasn't killed by illuminati... just that it's no surprise that the theories are surfacing. He cultivated that mystique over decades. We're now seeing the payoff.

I don't really know anything about the Illumanti. Yesterday I went on to YouTube for the first time to see if there were any Prince videos I hadn't seen before and somehow I made my way to some crazy conspiracy video about how the Illumanti sacraficed Prince to Satan at the request of Queen Elizabeth. The whole thing was creepy as Hell. I turned it off after about 2 minutes. I don't wanna know anymore about it ... and I don't wanna see any videos / social media posts / articles ... etc on the topic. I can't even wrap my head around it.

Someone on FB, who used to be an Org'r, posted a note he saw on another FB page, basically stating the same thing. It went deeper into numbers, how everything added up to 3, and so matter-of-factly stated Prince was heavy into satanism and illuminati stuff (pyramids, etc), and the 666 on 1999 ( rolleyes ). I had to quote Beyoncé on that one. "Y'all haters corny with that Illuminati mess."
