Its such B.S. and not adding up.. I'd understand if Prince made it a habit or reputation of being late for his shows and other business dealings. As we all know Prince rarely cancelled shows. Prince never appeared to be high or "out of it" IF he was this drug addict theyre painting him out to be we as fans and his employees wouldve definitely saw signs. and more negative stories wouldve came out over years. Im leaning towards something that was accidental than a true drug habit.. but of course as fans we're biased.

I'm leaning towards that too but of course they are spinning it to make it look like something else.

The media needs something to harp on. When MJ died, they focused on teh molestation (That was disproved) and I totlally forgot about his drug addiction. The only thing people cared about was the music. In 20 years, that is all that will be left. It keeps us listeneing.

Beautiful, Loved and Blessed

Thank You Prince

this is true...they came up with all kindsa stuff on him too. That was so sad and disturbing, but I though they wouldve improved since MJ's death, but theyre even worse sad

There are a few outlets that have focused on the pain meds, but overall, the incredible outpouring of love, adoration and respect for Prince has been overwhelmingly positive. More than I ever imagined. Focus on the pain meds if you want, but I tend to click on the good stuff right now.

(Insert something clever here)

nursev, I'm with you...It's tough to see Prince portrayed in this way. He obviously had pain to deal with, but that doesn't mean he was any drug addict. disbelief

nod I'm with you and Nurse. I was feeling really disturbed this week..on top of my grief, then I realized that I need to stop reading ALL news articles and reports until the full autopsy report results are released. It's really been pissing me off how they are portraying him as if he's "just another celebrity who got hooked on drugs". disbelief It's more believeable that he may have taken pain killers on a regular basis for chronic pain, but abusing meds is a whole different thing entirely and is not the case here.

And don't get me started on his "half siblings" who hadn't spoken with him in 10+ years doing interviews with their lawyer sitting beside them discussing this whole situation. rolleyes Call me what you want, but I believe that THE WILL is going to pop up sooner or later and will shut all of them down.

I have not watched one news show since he transitioned. The media, especially radio, ignored him because he didn't play the game as they wanted him to, now they want to speak on shit they don't know jack about. Please, nothing they have to say interest me.

I agree and it is sad that theyre making him seem like he was just a pill popper sad and the half siblings coming out the woodwork is some messed up stuff "I havent seen him in 15 years but lemme see the elevator he died in" shit is not right.

I certainly don't think a prescription drug addiction is legacy tarnishing. It has been documented AT LENGTH that if it is one thing that is easy to get hooked on and EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to break away from, its prescription drugs.

If anything, more light is being shined on a highly dangerous situation that TONS of people struggle with. Maybe this will open some peoples eyes and lead them to getting professional help and/or (hopefully) the industry might be scrutinized much more than it is currently.

Recreational drugs, now that's a different matter... but, having said all that, lets wait on the final autopsy report...

This is EXACTLY spot on. Sure, it's not comforting at all to even think P could have been a drug abuser. And until we know for sure, it's not appropriate to assume. But if it turns out he was, then I do believe it effective to report on that so to remind other affected victims to recognize the problem and seek out help. And again, there's nothing wrong with that. If it helps one person, then it's worth it IMO...

This was an accident if anything. Same thing happened with Gerald Levert, fighting the Flu/Pneumonia and dealing w/pain from a pass surgery. ACCIDENT!!
And dosage has a lot to do with it. P was the wt of an young teen so dosage could've been adjusted.

No body has talked about this but P did go to the doc that Wednesday and had another appt that Thurs mrng. May have been the bad case of baterial Flu/Pneumonia still going around.
