it's one of my favorite albums for how personal it is... just kinda makes you feel close to him as you listen to it. he was very accessible to his fans during this time as well. memories +

"Emancipation" was a musical chronicle of his freedom as a recording artist from Warner Bros. and his vision of a family life that never came to pass. I actually love "Emancipation" and find comfort in many of the songs, including "The Love We Make", "Holy River" and "Savior". Prince's music is spiritual and secular and the songs contained on the record celebrate life, which is what his legacy represents to me. Even "Face Down" I can listen to because it's a reminded of the displeasure he had for the music industry that now is falling over themselves to lavish praise on a man no longer here to receive them.

With out doubt ....Prince Knew ....don't ask me how he knew ... A lot of stories about him the guy was on another level ...like so yoga shit or somthing but he could see way ahead of the game...

...I just watched the video to FACE DOWN have not seen that video in years....F**K ME tell me that wasn't a man who knew what was going to happen when he past away?

RIP Prince sad

I've always loved Style (great, funny lyrics. Sounds like P had a great time with this track), La la means, Betcha by Golly Wow, title track.
But like a lot of others I never gave time to listen to the whole set.
Any major track recommendations?
Thanks and love to all..

Check out Face Down and see if you can track down Face Down Live 97, which is possibly one of his greatest live performances of all time!

Other brilliant tracks on Emancipation (imo) are In This Bed Eye Scream, New World, Joint 2 Joint, The Love We Make and The Holy River.

Holy River made my list of unlistenable songs right now. So did Purple Rain, The Breakdown and Sometimes it Snows in April.
