One Week On... My Final Words to Prince

Like many on here I have crossed paths with Prince.

.

The last time I saw him my parting words were, "thank you, your music means so much to me".

.

In response he smiled and nodded in acknowledgement.

.

In all honestry I'm not sure why I wanted to share this, but I didn't want this important milestone to pass without reaching out to everyone.

.

I truly hope everyone is bearing up. I know some are doing better than others.

.

Big hug to everyone - we've got to stick together!

.

That's kinda all I wanted to say.

I think your parting words to him were genuinely beautiful....and I'm glad he got to hear from so many people just how much he truly meant to us all. He was and will always be loved by so many. Thanks for sharing this.

Wish I didn't freeze and said nothing when I saw gimping into the sidedoor of the POD in Dublin back in 1995. There was nobody else around... He just got out of the limo... Shades and walking cane... Amazing experience.
Sending love to everyone in here

All morning all I could think about is that it's been a week already and praying that he is at peace.

My last words to him were in a greeting card I gave him in Vegas before he came over and spoke to me and 3 of my friends. I'm glad I had the chance to let him know in person what he meant to me.

Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

It would have been the exact same thing I would have wanted to say.

Cause tomorrow is taking too long
and yesterday's too far away
and the reality that you believe in begins to bind.

I wouldve said the same thing. There mightve been a stream of urine running down my leg at the same time, but I wouldve given it my best shot to keep it together.

(Insert something clever here)

I would have said the same thing to him right before I went all fan girl on him (even though I'm a guy). Now I'll never get a chance to thank him. sad

The pain isn't quite so raw now a week later I guess...still having a hard time knowing we will never see him again perform or just hanging around Paisley Park...I saw him last Fall pedaling on the grounds, in the distance, in the shadows, as we walked to our car after an event at Paisley...the light from a street lamp occasionally exposing him more clearly...my son had to grab my arm to keep me from chasing him down, and to calm me from screaming...damn Minnesota Nice! But I vowed to return as often as possible and looked forward to pursuing my #1 goal of finally catching a live show besides just giving serious effort to feeding my Prince habit. His music has always been there for me thru 30+ years up life's ups and downs. I'm hopeful it will get me past this one day as well. I'm still mourning what will never be. I refuse to listen to anymore radio or tv news reports and read anymore print articles will only return here for updates as all the other outside stuff is too overwhelming. Grateful for this site and the fans here. It's helped this past week.
It's a hurtful place, the world, in and of itself. We don't need to add to it. We all need one another. ~ PRN
