I agree it was his decision too. I read on the org a while back that P and George Benson had a falling out (around 2000/2001?)..I don't know if it was business or personal.

George may have talked to P about the JWs but the time your talking about was around the late 1990's. P didn't convert until Larry G got him into between 2001-2003, Don't Get It Twisted! :-P

Ultimately it was his decision, but Ive always believed they influenced him when he was in a dark place in his life. He needed guidance and Larry Graham just took that and ran with it. Prince had to grow older and mature, we all did, but I believe they changed the essence of who he was and that's never a good thing.

That is completely inaccurate.

While Prince did not officially confirm himself a JW until then, he was absolutely studying the JW teachings in 1997.

Some of you must think Prince was a sad, weak-minded individual to be coerced into a lifestyle he didn't really agree with. Even if he was suseptible after the death of his son, surely he had opportunity and ability to "come to his senses" regarding his association with Larry Graham if it wasn't really for him?

Prince was a highly intelligent, thoughtful, creative, ADULT man who made a profound, informed decision regarding his faith, belief in God and religious affiliation nearly 15 years ago. Plenty of people have come and gone as Jehovah's Witnesses in that time (even I have - twice)... Prince would have had nothing to lose (in most eyes) had he returned to his former way of life at any point. But he did not choose to do that.

It's rather insulting that people would dismiss one of the most important decisions of his life to some sort of brainwashing, especially from those of you who claim to hold him in such high esteem. It's disrespectful of him -- in his life as well as after his death.

As brilliant as Prince was, he was not infallible. Nobody is. And there is a reason the religious racket is so successful - it's very, very effective at so-called brainwashing. Prince made his own decisions, but to suggest he was not influenced is pure folly.

I believe it was Larry. He spoke of Larry introducing him to the faih in an interview I watched. He gave Larry a lot of praise for that. I forget who the interview was with..
