The battle for Prince's estate continues.

On Wednesday, two more women submitted claims in Minnesota's Carver County District Court, alleging they are entitled to a sum of the late icon's fortune.

One Atlanta resident, R. Kerr, filed a statement of claim, alleging Prince owes them $46,582.29 for "recording cost, post production, equipment rental" and "will seek further legal action" if they do not receive payment by June 1.

Meanwhile, a claim from Kimberly Felecia Potts of Tallassee, Alabama, says she is due $500,000 of the icon's estate, alleging she is responsible for Prince's 2004 album Musicology.

There's another claim filed by a California man who maintains Prince gave him control over his music catalog and vault via a verbal agreement in the mid-1990s. Luckily for the family the judge has set a four-month deadline for creditors.

now these are not caused by lack of a will. but without proof they will all lose. they may be hoping for a few $K settlement

Potts is a stalker, wasn't she?

It won't drag on because the estate, if it plays it smart, will squash all of these. MJ's estate suffered the same thing. The correct people will be paid (vendors, etc)., and the rest will fall off like dead leaves. A lot of them will drop their suits, knowing they'll never get anywhere.

John Branca and John McClain handled MJs estate quite well. They settled outsanding debts, and with the help of record sales right after MJs passing, and an auction of MJs vast belongings, the estate came out in the black in a relatively quickly. There was an IRS dispute in 2014. But not sure how that settled. IF the trust company ends up handling this sort of thing, I don't see it being dragged out too long. But yeah, always someone grabbing for some of that Purple Rain money.

Yes, true. A will does not make a difference when it comes to creditor claims. If Prince legitimately owed money - and he did - those bills still need to be paid, no matter what any will says. Even if a will says, "Don't pay my bills," it doesn't matter.

Some of it, probably. However there is a statute of limitations for creditor claims against an estate, so that part of it won't drag on interminably.

Actually the lack of a will does not lead to this stuff, it would be the other way around. If Prince said you take this and you take this and then she takes that and all money is divided up and spoken for people then start sueing, either they didnt get enough or what was owed or they are left out. HOW many times do we see wills contested. I mean say PRINCE wrote a will and left all to the church and Mayte. And never mentioned his sister of half siblings, do U honestly think they would not be in court the next day suing Mayte the Church and trying to get what was theirs. At this point nothing is mentioned so what are people going to contest? There is nothing to fight, I mean Wendy and Lisa cant say tomorrow we are entitled because no one got mentioned at all.

Wills do not prevent any of this. Claims can still be made against estates and wills are contested all the time.

If there are legitimate outstanding bills, will or not, they are responsible for payment.

Same with heirs, even if P had a will naming all his brothers and sister, if a child comes forward and is proven, that can override the will.
