Vinyl Reissues.

Well For You was released today in the uk. Next month sees Prince getting released. I've googled but this was already planned apparently. Just bad/good timing I guess.

Not sure if it's Rhino releasing them. Will find out when I get my copy on Thursday. Not sure how many are planned but there's a three month lead time for vinyl pressing in Europe.

To be honest, I don't want any "hip" vinyl reissues, since I already own all 80s albums on original vinyl, as well as on cd.

I was hoping for more than just "the normal"...

however I have already made a pre-order at imusic.dk

price is only 149,95 dkr each.... (normal price is around 179 to 199)....

My original went bye bye with a family member. My special Vinyl. Everyday after school I played that record.

You know . . I've read that there's absolutely no difference in quality. I don't mean like "well the difference isn't discernable by the human ear" . . I mean there is no difference in sound quality at all. One is just heavier.

180 grams never gets warped... that's the difference..

140 grams easily gets warped in heat or when the seal isn't opened.

Oh and it just feels better putting a 180 grams record on the player... well thats imo.... wink

Could I get a word of advice from some experienced orgers?

When I have enough funds, I'd love to own a complete vynal collection (with a high quality player) so I can hear his music as intended. However, I probably won't be able to afford that for another 10 years or so.

Do you think it will be possible to collect most of his albums on vynal 10 years from now?

I hope this guy is right then you can buy the album vinyls this year:

Nathanaaron wrote in another thread:

"WB is pushing out a ton of his albums on vinyl this year. We've got For You this week, Prince (self-titled) next month, and now suddenly announced are:

Around The World in A Day,
Parade,
The Black Album,
Lovesexy,
Batman,
The Love Symbol Album,
Graffitti Bridge

so far throughout the year, ending in December. Why Sign O' The Times and Diamonds and Pearls were skipped over I'm not sure... (maybe they'll be announced later.) Looks like "about" one a month..."

these were re-released already few years back..

Dirty Mind
Controversy
1999 (Double)
Purple Rain
