How would you feel if "The Vault" became an XM station?

Just throwing this out as an idea. It could have his full studio catalog and official live performances, including related acts and the work of select band members. It could also include people he's complemented in the past. Maybe it can even include some interview snippets. It could even include a weekly "bootleg block" where fans would have a chance to "give back" to his legacy?

Would it work? Would you join XM if you're not with them already?

Anyway, just an idea. Take care, guys.

In NY the rock station here does a Breadfast with the Beatles every Sunday Morning and I don't miss it as it is just that.

I don't know if there would be enough listeners for a full time station all the time, but I could definitely see it as a possibility.

Also, the old 99.1 or 99.7 (I forget which) in NY used to have a Prince special on his birthday. That is where I first heard most of the outtakes, bootlegs, etc. (taped a few but lost them in a move sad ) I also miss that terribly.

Because of their half-baked mistakes, we get ice cream, no cake; all lies, no truth; is it fair to Kill the YOUTH ~~ Party Up

It wouldnt work. Fans have flocked to buy his hits. Such a channel would not hold up long term. Besides, most of the people that would want to hear that material consistently either already own it in some form, or would immediately purchase upon release. I know I want to hear what I want to hear immediately. The days of waiting for your favorite song on the radio or XM are long gone.

(Insert something clever here)

It's not the vault, but Sirius/XM channel 50 is now an all Prince and associated artists stations. I listened a bit tonight and it appears to be pretty comprehensive including playing Batdance/200 Balloons back to back, then later playing The Future (remix), You Make My Sun Shine and even played The Truth and I think I recall a track from Crystal Ball (Don't remember which one at the moment).

The station is very well done, I hope it stick around and isn't just temporary.

Cool, thanks. I'll check it out.

It would be nice if the real vault material gets a chance to breathe, though.

I don't like the idea, if it was only available via stream some one would rip copy's and upload them online

Then I would be forced to download every thing boxed
Cant believe my purple psychedelic pimp slap pimp2

I will take my place, In the great below

Had a free XM trial for a year, it is pretty cool but I just can't bring myself to pay for it. Personally, I just upload a bunch of MP3s to a USB stick and leave it in the car.

The station is called The Groove.

Last night, 100MPH came on…I told my wife it must be the Mazarati version, but it wasn't. It was Prince's unreleased version. So I don't know what their sources are, but they're pretty good.

Also, the songs aren't censored.

There is (or was) a 24/7 Zappa radio station on the official Frank Zappa website. Something like this would work well for Prince's entire catalogue - surely an internet only radio station would have lower overheads than a digital or satellite radio station. Sure, it will have less reach, but it would be a great place to send people who want to dig deeper....
It's been too long since you've had your ass kicked properly:

I've even heard Sexual Suicide on there. Twice.
