There are a a number of people in the Purple world who have vast collections of Prince material at home, on Computers, Cd's etc. A large amount of which is virtually unheard of by most people.

What do you intend to do with your Vault? Will you simply enjoy it and store it or are you hoping the future will allow a platform for all that material to be widelt shared?

I have heard unnamed people talking of TB's of material. Is Prince's legacy also in a way, now in their hands?

I really like the idea of a fan library of all kinds of material. Be it outtakes or concert bootlegs. A site like PrinceVault could serve as a basis, just add the boots to the existing links and voila...

Whatever is in my "Vault" is out there circulating on the internet. I don't have anything that I a witholding, like a a concert that I taped that is not out there. So when I pass away, it won't matter, as far as that goes.

That being said, I do need to make an offsite backup of all my purple grooves.

My whole music collection has been shared with other music fans for years, and will remain so. Nothing uncirculating in it of course.

I think some fans and bootleggers have done a wonderful job of archiving , preserving and designing the acccompanying artwork and linernotes so far, and it would be great to see some of the more elite circles contribute what they have in the near future in order to add to and to preserve Prince´s legacy.

It would be great to see WB, his estate, his relatives, his ex-bandmembers and Paisley Park associates collaborate with the fans in order to create a complete body of work that goes way beyond the usual posthumous compilations and albums but I am afraid that commercial interests and a pure interest in preserving the legacy might clash.

Prince is an American icon and it would be cool to not only keep his legacy long lasting but also to extend and expand it to its full potential.
