People think it's Okay now, but I got a feeling the people Prince had taking stuff down are still going to continue with that in a week or two. It's just with all this stuff going on, they're not dealing with it right now.

I think it would be a smart move for the curators to collect all bootlegs and fan-content into the Prince YT profile. But who am I to suggest... Besides; Prince's Vevo channel is full of official stuff again, so I think there will not be many problems with stuff being online. I dunno...

I think if we want to see those videos up on Youtube then we shouldn´t mention them being up on Youtube again. They might be taken down with the swiftness again as soon as things settle down a bit.

Can I just ask, were you sent a copyright claim from Youtube or something from Websherrif. I'm noty sure if the videos are being taken down automatically or by a Company., It does seem to be very selective in what is being taken down.

I just had a quick look on Youtube and someone has posted every single full length album on there. Whether they will stay I don't know. Part of me happy people will hear the music part of me finds' it all so strange.

I have been a fan for so long, and even moreso now, and I went to Youtube, and I have seen titles of things that I have wanted to see for years and years, and I have not looked at them. I don't know if it's out of respect, or because I really can't listen to his music yet. I have never owned one bootleg of any kind, but I have purchased everything that I can. I pray he chose to allow us an opportunity to hear all of the things he created. Part of me is feeling guilty. I mean there is one video I have been wanting to see for over 10 years, and I am afraid to watch it.

Am I wrong? Is it ok? Will the pain stop?

I´d say grab´em while you can because if things go sour between the record labels and his heirs, then you may not ever see some of those videos again. Some of those concert videos didn´t even get a re-release while Prince was on good terms with WB, and in some cases the publishing and copyright is not that clear.

I understand your grief and hesitation, I have a hard time watching him , but it would be so sad if you , me , others, future generation would never get to see those gems just because of petty disputes over publishing or censorship or whatever stupid reason.

The situation is sad and bad enough as it is, with his death, uncertainty regarding the estate and whatnot.....let´s at least be able to enjoy what he DID release while he was alive.

I´ve seen pretty much every video that´s up there and own most of that stuff.

Still, my collection is scattered all over the place on various media, computers, tapes, flashdrives, etc. etc. , so having them up on Youtube, some of them in good quality, is a good thing.

It hurts to hear his voice in interviews and on stage. I am going to miss him and how he speaks a lot.

Tykae will be rich enough. No need to make her richers. YOUTUBE is the answer.

Prince belongs to history now - they need to let him be on youtube - it has not slowed sales (and wouldnt have -but i supported his descision inlife) - and rt now its nothing but a muffin with alot more butter to go.

Unfortunately youtube's algorithms are muting some audio that is matched to copyrighted material it has on file as reference.

For example there is a great osunding Beautiful Experience TV special on youtube, but parts of it are silent when it hits the studio song videos.

I am thrilled to watch Prince perform in Rock in Rio in 1991...it was an amazing show!
