Who says Paisley needs saving? THere is already talks about opening it up as a museum for everyone. Once the estate is settled, all debt to gov and anyone else will be paid, so not sure money for this cause would actually mean anything.

I hope you all realize that monies generated by gofundme go directly to the bank account of the person who set up the page!

is it really the same without him there? just like his music and after he died, seconds later his music flooded all over the internet. it's people want to preserve his legacy with pp but not preserve his legacy in keeping his music off youtube, etc.

the memorabilia will go to the hall of fame, so people can see it. the equipment can be sold or donated to schools. it's like that old saying, a house doesn't make a home. the people living it do. with prince no longer there it's just doesn't have the same meaning to me.

No they don't seem to realize anything, but I'm glad you pointed it out.

ya, most gofundme's are a racket. I saw one for my old mentor recently, set up by his son who is a piece of shit. I still had enough love that I was trying to get up a grand to send it but if I do, I know it's going right to a bunch of dinners and bullshit. those things rely on pulling your heartstrings.

I mean don't donate to them even if they have good intentions. When they receive all these donations whose to say they will use it towards that. But I also doubt that they can raise several millions to purchase the property.

Even if they buy it, they will need to maintain it and that costs a lot more.

Like all local tourist attractions.. I'm sure the city and state will make up for any lacking funds Paisley Park and Prince's estate might need to turn it into a condition where it can be visited like a museum.

Even with them turning it into a museum I'm sure concerts and parties can still be held there like alot of other museums do as fundraisers. Having a Paisley Park museum membership would be a cool idea where members could get exclusive music downloads and merch discounts by paying a yearly fee..

Maybe finally a Paisley Park/NPG Music Club could be done right. I hope theyre reading this!

I would NOT donate to anything that is not directly offiliated with Paisley Park, especially this early. Regardless of who wants to "save it", it is up to his estate what happens to it. And I doubt it will be sold anytime soon especially if there is talk about it being turned into a museum. And people must remember, even if fans do buy Paisley, that only includes the building, not everything inside. If you would like to do something nice that you think would honor him, why not donate to a public school that lacks musical equipment and books that students need to learn? The arts are so heavily neglected, especially in public schools. Prince believed in this a lot. It might be nice. wink Or just give to a charity you know will help others. Volunteer your time?

Too many people are trying to take advantage of us that are grieving. Not saying all of those go fund me pages are nonsense, but there is NO guarantee that money will save Paisley at this point. Glad you asked before sending them money =]

After seeing the gullible people on ebay/amazon since 4/21, I'm guessing this gofundme page will raise millions.

people are gullible but I think they are selfish enough to where it won't get millions. My mentor's son was trying to get 80 grand, I don't think he'll get 20 grand and he had enough of a name and enough followers to where you'd think he should be able to raise money with no problem but when it comes to that dollar, people are funny. Vanity had a gofundme and I think it got less than 5 grand.

People who don't give to a potentially fraudulent gofundme are selfish? Okay.

"I want to own Paisley Park... GOOOOFUNDME!!!"

How much is it?

"Errr..."

Is it even up for sale?

"Well... no but..."

It say's you have $400 dollars... you know it cost $10 Million when it was built back in the 80s? So just another $30 million or so to go... good luck.

Another scam ... It cost $2.5 million to run the place every month in its heyday. Anyonw want to guess how many tens of millions of dollars it will cost to buy it, maintain it and then run the actual business of PP? The heirs are not going to want an IOU - they will want the cash.

Way to misinterpret what I'm saying. First law of nature is self preservation. So, generally speaking, whether it's vanity really needing help or someone scamming, that money makes people show their true colors. My old mentor who has a page really does have alot of people he's helped and even though I think his son is pulling a fast one, people owe the man and that's why I was trying to come up with cash for him.
