There are hundreds of tracks in there. I"m sure at all different levels of competion. I'm sure Prince started some tracks and then lost interest or went a different direction. So probably complete songs and just the barebones beginnings of others.

Given how most of Prince's incomplete productions were, for the most part complete, this seems slightly unnecessary.

Asmuch as I love Jam & Lewis, their services not required. If they want to remix, sure! I'd love that! But to put out originals, no, no thank you.

As I understand it, a great deal from the vaults are multi-track unmixed/raw recordings.

So it needs to be mixed down, at least.

Maybe that's how Jimmy Jam would "produce" it.

i.e. not the traditional way of producing music (including changing it), but more like "collecting the pieces and make them accessible to people who don't own a mixing console / multi-track tape".

I would prefer Susan Rogers did it though

I'm probably in the minority, but I have no issue with 'modernising' some of the work, as long as the unaltertered versions are released in tandem, much like MJ's Xscape.

My 10 year old boys think AOA is Prince's best album, and that Xscape is MJ's They say it doesn't sould like old people music. The modern mixing is creating new fans. With that comes income, and with that comes the likelihood of more releases.

If I were looking for someone that could give modern sound, but also have connections with the importance of the legacy, then Jam and Lewis would be on a very short list.

Hmm, I don't know. We don't even know if his stuff from the Vault will even see the light of day! Let alone someone producing his unfinished tracks. It would be nice to hear his stuff, but then again, if someone gets their greedy hands on it and then remixes his songs to feature collabs featuring Justin Timberlake, Justin Beiber, Beyonce, Rhianna, The Weeknd, etc. then it would be as good as garbage.

I think I'll stick with my bootlegs...
