Review of the "While My Guitar" HOF solo

https://medium.com/@danie....hgqoebm4s

This is a really good read and made me appreciate the performance even more when I looked at it from this perspective. I also read that Petty, Lynne and Winwood didn't want him up there to begin with. If that's really true it makes that solo all the sweeter.

It was excellent, but I felt at the time and still do, that Prince was a bit of a ham and made it about him and not about George Harirson. Although doing a great, memorable solo was a nice tribute as well, I guess.

Strive

Can't remember what article I read it in but apparently Prince didn't even hear the song before getting a copy to learn and only did it because he wanted to impress Tom Petty.

If it's true they didn't want him up there then it kinda explains his performance.

It was his night too, why not?

LifeisGood

It's one of my all time favorite performances by Prince and he looks smoking hot in it and sounds absolutely amazing. His facial expressions just make it that much more fantastic. The article by Daniel Ralston is so well written and I love the clips he includes. I've watched that music video probably about 20 times at least and will probably watch it another 50 times, it's just that good! Oh and I still don't know what happens to the guitar after he throws it into the air - it sort of magically disappears as he walks away.
