Don't put on the One Nite Alone disc- it will break u up

I played it all the way through to the end when you can hear his footsteps walking away at the end of the last track. I was no more good.

One of my all time favouite albums - simply stunning and beautiful.

.

Many times if I can't sleep at night, I put this CD on gently in the background.

.

It pains me to think he could have been alone in his last moments.

.

I miss him so much!

.

I've literally never listened to this cd all the way through. THis morning, I just had a huge playlist, chosen at random, and Arboretum was the first song. When I heard the footsteps, I just broke down and cried. This is surreal.

I just watched the end of that Judith Hill at Paisley Park video on youtube. She pushes Prince out the door and locks it. Prince says "Let me in." Then walks off. For some reason, that really got me.

It's actually the album I listened yesterday nite when I learned the news. Just seemed to make sense to listen to that one. I was depressed but calm, it's only today I took it full face. Listened to several albums and they all made me feel sad, they just didn't sound like ever before, the joy was gone sad

Just listened to 'Slow Love', which isn't one of my favourites, and it sounded gutwrenching. So fucking sad.

I was at work this morning & the radios playing and on comes Janet Jackson's song Together Again and she's going on about "seeing your smiling face again" and I completely lost it.
I'm finding it hard to listen to any music.

I can't listen to his or any music at the moment , does not help me. It was the same when my parents passed away. I find silence and happy thoughts work better for me. I love the guy but never thought i would feel like it was with a family memeber. Proves how much his music means to me.

I can't listen to his music right now, and every time I read something about him or hear a news report about him, I start tearing up. Looking at Paisley Park on the news is especially hard. I want him back.

Ironic that you say this b/c I took the One Nite Alone live double cd with me to work today, listened to the whole thing, then listened to "4 The Tears in Your Eyes" and "Power Fantastic" on the B-sides cd, then lastly a cd I have with the audio of my first Prince concert: March 15, 2004 in NYC, the night he got inducted into the RRHOF, he had an after show at Club Black. Near the end of listening to this, I just broke down at my desk. I couldn't listen to anymore of his music for the day. I've been a total and complete mess. Then when I looked at the press conference, I was even more upset with the realization that he was all alone when he passed. I just can't deal with that. Everytime I think about it, my eyes fill up with tears. To think that he was alone and possibly not knowing what was going on is killing me. sad
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Prince was always my "go to" musician when times got tough or I had a personal loss. Now who do I "go to" to get past this loss? sad

Yeah, as I mentioned in the main thread--I just picked a track that I only vaguely had in mind as a "safe" song to listen to as the first one after... and stupidly chose Arboretum, which never impressed me all that much (it was in my head as "pleasantly pretty little instrumental piece"). I was crying halfway through, but had to start walking it off after it ended. And I did this in the closing minutes before parents started bringing kids into the preschool this morning. Brilliant move. I don't think any of the kids actually noticed the moments I teared up during the day... they normally notice my mood, so either I was remarkably good at hiding it or it was so weird they didn't want to mention it. Which seems unlikely.

I am listening to the Atlanta show and loving it because there are no memories attached. But everything else except I will and into the Light is off bounds. Perhaps I will never be able to listen again to Sometimes it snows and Purple rain. sad Hugs to everyone this weekend.

I thought about that one and I'm sure I would shed some tears during it. I love that album and he has the voice of an angel on it.

Justin Beiber maybe?

.

J/k. But yes I can relate and I just think it's best to listen to Prince's music and shed those tears. I was emotional all day the last two days and periodically through the day it will just hit me and the tears will come, or try to. When I'm out in public, I hold it back but at home just let it go. It's just natural and will get better with time, although we will never, ever be fully over this loss, just like with a family member who we love.
