Wanna hear a night and day comparison of Prince bands? Listen to "Crazy 2 Cool" then this Soundboard. Sonny, Michael B and the 1994 NPG make 3EG sound like a cruise ship band.

Just my $0.02

I got it!!!1!!!

What are the highlights of this show in your opinion?

I really enjoyed hearing 'New Power Soul'. Was always kinda surprised he never pulled this one out live in '95. Get Wild is cool with the horns too.

Just need the following Erotic City show with the live 11 minute version of 'Come' with the NPG Horns to leak...

.

I just started the first song, enjoying a home-brew too.

Thanks for the tips... lol

NPS should be interesting. See http://www.princevault.co...Power_Soul

Note the dates.

This song was quite fresh back then... (recently recorded etc)

I hear the raw power already.

I guess we lack that in non-regular shows (aftergigs...) ever since 3EG. Maybe after the Piano thing?

This rendering of New Power Soul indeed is interesting!

I kinda feel/hear the combination of the raw 1994/1995 era NPG with the slightly different NPS vibe.

I really like "Days of Wild", but can do without the rest of the set. Still nice to have.

Maybe his best band ever. Prince thought so back in 2002. I'm not sure if he still feels that way. They do sound a little sloppy on this boot, though. At least for them.

That sounds kinda harsh on the elementary NPG of that age.

Even to todays standards they were not surpassed.

Days Of Wild is the highlight for me. Great acapella beginning.

.

But I'm liking the whole set, cool to hear New Power Soul and him getting the horns doing their bit on Billy Jack Bitch. Also, interesting hearing Sonny and I think Morris doing bits of the chants/vocals instead of the samples.

Is New Power Soul the Exodus version or the NPS album version?

It's one of the 'A Night In Erotic City' afterhours shows that were held in the VIP Room (ErotiCity) at Glam Slam in early 1994. I have a few flyers for them somewhere...

Yep. After the main bar closed at 1AM, Erotic City would open up as an 18+ venue. Having just turned 18 that year, I used to drag all of my high school friends there in hopes of hearing new songs, and maybe running into Prince. He was there quite a bit, cutting through the crowd with a Tootsie Pop in his mouth, and bodyguards in tow.

It's so strange to hear some of these songs without their samples. Were they missing a keyboard player that night? Also, that stage in the Erotic City room was tiny! How in the hell did he get the full horn section up there?

I woudl love to see this show. I was actually there. I wish I knew how to find it.
