As I said, it's the sound of the synths and the short punched chords that make some people think "Take Me With U". And not that many people have said the two lines are the same. I'd venture to guess that maybe 10 people at most have suggested that. But given that those 10 people are Prince fans, I don't discount their perceptions.

"Take Me With U" is my all-time favorite song. It's the first song I learned to play on guitar, and I've probably played it a thousand times. I know every note of that song. I was the Orger that pointed out that, 20 years after he wrote it, Prince tweaked the bridge and changed the Fmaj7 chord in the bridge's second bar to a G/A chord. Whether that makes me biased, or more knowledgable about this song, or both, or neither is for you to decide.

And LOL, no - I do not hear how "Jughead" is "Housequake" redone. But if you do, more power to you!

I could layer those songs and you'd hear that they have the same structure and also the same triple beat rhythm device. In Housequake it's with the stomping noise, in Jughead its the voices together doing the same thing. I could layer them up as one track and see what happens... maybe a demon would come out.

Hey, if you're back in Houston come to the Party For Like Minded People (aka Prince's birthday celebration) on June 4th and play it for me. I'd be interested to hear it!

Saturday, June 4th at High Volume Music Live. 8405 Almeda-Genoa road, Suite K, Houston 77075. It's not far from Hobby Airport, on the south side of town. It's going to be a GREAT party. The host - Ant Boogie - is a great guy. There will be all kinds of music, and the Prince tribute band "The Breakdown" is going to play (they're pretty good, too!).

I'll start a thread on it in the Fan Gatherings forum in May but the pertinent info is above. Oh yeah, tickets are $12.50.
