I have made a few Prince covers that I really want to share with the world, but I can't upload them online because Prince and his legal reps will get onto me.

However, I've seen some Prince related stuff floating around on Youtube, Soundcloud, etc. The Cream video is available in full duration on Youtube.

If I uploaded some Prince covers on Soundcloud, will I get into trouble? Or will Prince be cool with it, in his own way?

The worst that can happen is that your vids will be taken down and your accounts may be automatically shut down by YT or SC if they have to shut down more than a few vids or songs. It's not like you'll be sued or anything. So just go for it. And if u have other stuff on ur account and u don't want it shut down, just create a separate account for your covers.

The reason why there's stuff on YT and SC is people keep uploading them over and over and the purple police can't keep-up with everything.

I might be wrong but I have always assumed the Cream video has stayed online as perhaps Warner Brothers own the rights (I mighy be wrong),

I did see 1000 x's and O's get taken down within a few hours. It is entirely your own risk and obviously your account could be closed. It is possible to face potential legal action as the events a little while back showed but the cases were dropped.

It is strange, I really can't quite work it out. The video has been on Youtube for 4 years and has over 5.3 million views. It seems strange that this video is one of few exceptions.
