His timeline on Twitter is inviting the hottest women in music, acting and fashion presumably to Paisley Park on the 21st. Dude still has great taste in women and some of them are talented. 3121 #1 THIS YEAR

So, it appears, Paisley Park on the 21st will host an event for feminists. Interesting, after reading the article that it laments female recording artists not having the liberty to produce and engineer their own music because how often does P let Judith Hill, Liv Warfield and Andy Allo tweak mixes by twisting knobs, being their own executive producer-hire and manage their own products to get the most out of it financially and artistically. Prince has been progressive hiring women as engineers and band members but the female proteges is typical of the issues in that article. Hope it aint a publicity stunt and he really is lending his support genuinely, if the event is for this issue. 3121 #1 THIS YEAR

You DO realize Liv produced much of the album with members of her band in Portland and Prince was just executive producer (funding the project), right? Also, Allo and Hill aren't Vanity or Apollonia. With their work before (and in the case of Allo since) it's clear both are legit songwriters and producers in their own right. All indications are that their projects are true collaborations and not like the "protege" projects of old. [Edited 1/1/16 19:02pm]

I never really trust a lot of those articles (feminist written ones I mean), a lot of the facts are overblown and exaggerated. I tried looking up one of the citations to check the facts on what was being claimed and the first one led me to a dead link. Typical.

Glad to know I won't be missing anything. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
