PrinceVault in my computer :P

Recently i decided to make some order in my music library, because i can't jump always from folder to folder. In order to do that, i searched online for some freeware software for music...and bum! MusicBee appeared. As a newbie in Prince, first i started to arrange his discography, but damn he is a hard one smile Not sure what i'm missing from him yet, but it is nice to have all in one place. For the sake of easy searching and tagging, i tag everything as Prince (e.g. Prince & The Revolution or Prince & New Power Generation = Prince) even NPG album Newpower Soul and NPG orchestra. Singles would occupied a lot of space, so some songs like e.g. "Eye Hate U (extended remix)" i put together in The Gold Expirience folder as a 2nd part..etc.

Beside offical realises i got that "The Dawn 3cd" set and "Work It volumes 1-8; 34 discs" (this one is hard to arrange in a programs like MusicBee, because diffrent years will separate folders, so i fixed that one on "2000").I would like to dig out some great bootlegs.

I don't use local music player software anymore, as I have a Google Play Music subscription, so I use the Cloud Player which combines my local library and their music database.

However, at one point I did use MusicBee and it was great!

I use Plex to organize my Prince stuff, not just because it makes it look pretty on the screen, but it also streams it to the Roku on my TV. The screen looks similar to yours. It's a neat thing to have, and this is gonna sound weird, but it's fun to organize your Prince stuff. For example hunting down the cover art (for non-official ones, Plex does the regular releases itself). It reminds me of the old days making mix tapes and organizing my cd, tape, and album collections. That sounded incredibly nerdy.

Plex is great! I use that for my movie and TV shows to stream them to my Nexus Player (Android TV). There's a few file formats it doesn't recognise but it's great software.

Like any other software in that category, plays them without any problem. For my windows desktop, it is a really great solution...i think it's best software out there.

You can look comparison of audio player software if you need some details, but lossless compression is filled with musicbee player.

to be honest i'm not a fan of that offical cover...i mean it is absolute cult and classic, but Prince & Guitar are much better together cool

I changed that D&P cover...

btw, 50+ albums and counting. razz

Hi. How did you arrange the folders in musicbee according to artist? I just have it all haphazardly on musicbee. Can you guide me about the folder arrangement?

Hm, problem is i don't have guide>step-by-step, but you should figure out, because MusicBee has a lot of options & it's easy to use, as you see i like it clear and simple ...you just need to try and you'll find it yourself razz

But, anyway this is panel from my "preferences" so see can it help...check or uncheck something from this boxes (btw, my skin is DarkINDIGO) smile
