The synths are kind of ubiquitous euro-popish in nature over a drum/bass combination that Prince has employed countless times. Not hearing any direct connection to the song you posted.

Change it one more time..

I would edit the thread title if I could . . but it's blatantly obvious if you know how artists work in the studio. He heard "Kids" and wanted to make his rendition of it

1. Prince has never made this music

2. MGMT isn't making anything worth listening to anymore

By the way Empire of the Sun has surpassed MGMT with their own sound, it would be nice if Prince could put out something in the vain of Empire of the Sun

I loved oracular spectacular. Thought mgmt was great. Then, I saw them live in concert and they suuuuucked so much it soured the album for me.

Wow, I definitely hear the similarities. It's unlikely that it's a coincidence imo.

Well that's disappointing . . there second album had one good song and everything after that has sucked. They put out something on Soundlcoud recently and it was so terrible that I thought "If they're on drugs, they need to stop. If they aren't on drugs, they need to start" - very terrible, and I'm not a critic - just a fan of their first album.

Empire of the Sun however, stage show is phenominal . . not to mention their albums are very great in quality consistent through

Of course he has! MGMT is riddled with Princely influence, but also other acts who were even an influence on Prince, like Roxy Music, for example. Even Electric Feel has hints of the Gotta Stop Messin' About style Prince.
