Does Prince have an "industry age"

Meaning, is he really two years older than the age he portrays in the public? As I was reading my book Prince: Inside the Music and Masks - during the earlier part of the book it mentions that he agreed to take 2 years off of his age after being convinced to do so by his manager. It never makes mention of him going back to his real age. So is Prince really 2 years older?

He did that earlier in his career to portray the "boy wonder" doing everything at 16, etc like Stevie Wonder. So when they said he was 16 he was really 18. But that has since been corrected over time - he was born in 1958 that has been established by record - so his reported age is his real age now.
