"Danny dropped..." is correct. You're right on the second part though...it is "a sophisticated mass-produced cacophony".

Just listened 2 that line again and again and again

A sophisticated man reduced 2 company in no-win situations

is the correct one, the other doesn't fit in the timing too

That's just one of his absolutely greatest songs. And the lyrics... Where is that imagination? Even more than the music, interesting lyrics seem to be COMPLETELY gone...

Hey loudmouth, shut the fuck up, right?

I can't get enough of this song.
This was a Lisa Coleman & Wendy composition

Completely disagree, but that's okay. The lyric is much clearer in the new version (2009). Listen to that one and see if you still feel that you have the lyrics correct. It wasn't until I heard the '09 version that I had the line confirmed.

I thought he changed the lyrics a bit for the 2009 remix like he did with Extra Loveable

The version I have is pretty clear, and you can easily word the lyrics with him

It's certainly possible, but I always thought he was singing about "mass produced cacophony" in the original. I just took the new version to be a confirmation of the lyrics in the original. I certainly could be wrong.

Could I suggest "What's the biggest flick you've ever been in?"

No, it's definitely "What's the biggest lake you've ever been in?". It is said in reply to him asking how much she had to drink. Obviously, quite a lot!

'Lake' doesn't make any sense. He's obviously trying to impress her and bed her with his star status. She asks him what's the biggest movie (flick) you've ever been in. That makes much more sense given the subject matter.

He asks her how much she's had to drink, and she replies with "what's the biggest lake you've ever been in", ie "whatever the biggest lake you've been in, that's roughly how much I've had to drink".

GIRL O' MY DREAMS

Here we go, 2 .. 1, 2, 3!

I want a woman like Marilyn Monroe
The kind of woman that'd never say no
The kind of woman that'd make U scream
"That's the girl o' my dreams!"

I want a woman that'll treat me right
Give me good lovin' all through the night
Take her on a date, she's my machine
That's the girl o' my dreams

CHORUS:
Oh, the girl o' my dreams
Oh, listen people, that's the girl o' my dreams

I want a woman like Lauren Bacall
Old and wrinkled but knows it all
Got all the little tricks that'll make me cream
That's the girl o' my dreams

I want a woman that'll wash my hair
Even wash my underwear
Always smilin', never mean
That's the girl o' my dreams

CHORUS

I would say that U're a chauvinist

No, I just got a lot of things that are on my list!

Yeah, if she couldn't hang, would U give her the fist?

No man, I'd sit her right down and give her a little kiss!

Oh, I need a woman like Lena Horne
Knowed she was funky since the day she was born
Lena's mama say "Doc, is it a girl?"
Doc say "And how!"
Lena smiled, slapped the doctor and said
"Sucker I'm runnin' things now!"

While specific recording dates for the initial version of the song are not known, the song was originally recorded in 1982 at Prince's Kiowa Trail Home Studio, Chanhassen, MN, USA. The track was re-recorded on 18 June, 1986 at the Crosstown Circle Warehouse, Eden Prairie, MN, USA

The track was given to T.C. Ellis, who had appeared in the Graffiti Bridge movie, when he and Levi Seacer, Jr. were working on his album True Confessions in 1990-1, and the track was re-recorded without Prince's input for use on the album.

Just checked to see if the old Crystal Ball website was still up, and it turns out it is. Here are the lyrics listed on the page for Movie Star:

"Body oil? Check!
Incense? Check!
Environmental records?
Double check!!"

9:30 gettin' dressed, had a
couple sips of wine

Boom! swear 2 God, my
suit was hangin' fine
Everybody at the club freaked
when stepped from my
limousine they said "Ooh, it's
good 2 see ya" said "Ooh, it's
good 2 be seen, U know what

mean?"

'll tell U what's good It's a
good thing we live close 'cuz
almost suffocated in that car
Next time won't wear so
much Paco Rabinni or whatever

that stuff is... wonder if they
got potato chips up in this @#&*!
Man, this ain't like them house
parties we used 2 go 2
That's alright, 'm clean

2night, hey, 'm a movie star

c myself on the silver screen
2night, it don't matter who U r
'm the only star on the scene,
U know what mean?

Man, hate makin' movies,
but like that money!

U think don't?

Check me out
just walk in, don't even find
a seat just throw my coat right
on the floor grab somebody 4 a
quick dance, boy or girl it don't

matter no more, 'm hot!
Mix was right ... bold!
Lord

Ouch!
Baby, do U wanna, do U
wanna get off?

2night, 'm a movie star
c myself up on the silver screen
2night, it don't matter who U r
'm the star on the scene
... ouch!

Mix was right

On the 1 the kick drum hit the
triple beat Baby, was poppin'
Did one spin, did a second, did
the splits came up, looked around
- the joint was hoppin'
Somebody say "Movie Star!"

"So, check it out, U wanna dance?"
"Are U wearing that Paco Rabbit
or whatever U call it?"
"Oh wow, that's dog!"
"What? Speak up, can't hear
over that suit!" "Maybe U can
hear this?" "Am supposed 2

be impressed?" "That's right, Rolls
Royce! Check it out baby...
U wanna dance now?"
"Maybe next song."
"Yeah, right, dancefloor's not big
enough, U fat cow!"

Ooh
Ooh, the mix, it's about the mix
Ooh baby, like that, but the
Kid gonna show U a few tricks
Can play with U?

"Baby, let's creep, had enough
of this action. Bartender, on the
house - give everybody in here
somethin'! Man, don't care...
got money 2 spare, U're cute
and your music's thumpin'.
Yo baby, get the check."

"Yo baby' my behind! need
my money." "Say Brother,
Carothers, can get some credit?
No?! As much money done
spent in this nasty joint?!
U need 2 be slapped!
Darlin', shall we leave now?

Go 2 Hades, boy!"

"So U like my crib?
It's not mine, it's rented.
Say, how much did U have
2 drink?" "What's the biggest
lake U've ever been in?"

"So, do U like environmental
records? Crickets chirpin',
water rushin'...
it's supposed 2 make U horny
it just makes me wanna go 2
the bathroom.
Actually this one's not bad

- check it out...
so like, what's your name?"
"Zzzzzzzzz!"
"Oh wow, that's dog!"

An Honest Man -Under the Cherry Moon instrumental

1. Under the Cherry Moon Outro - Piano Instrumental [Intro Voice over]
2. An Honest Man - Piano Instrumental [Titles]

An Honest Man

I want 2 be an honest man
I'll be your slave, just understand
How much I need U
And if I died
We'll be 2gether side by side

With U I know I can stand, stand
With U I can be an honest man

Initial tracking took place on 30 November, 1985 (on the same day as Mountains) at the Washington Avenue Warehouse, Eden Prairie, MN, USA. It is thought that the a capella version was created around the same time, and it may have been intended as a brief opening track for the Parade album, in the same vein as For You on the For You album. The Crystal Ball liner notes state that the song is "inspired by Kristin Scott Thomas' character Mary Sharon in Under The Cherry Moon."

-PrinceVault

An Honest Man -recited by Mary Sharon near the end of Under the Cherry Moon

I want 2 be an honest man
I'll be Ur slave, just understand
How much I need U
And if I lie, I'm part of U
This is my crime
I do know laughter, I do know tears
But all is nothing, without U near
We are of 1 soul, and if I die
We'll be together side by side
With U I know that I can stand
With U I can be an honest man

It's a beautiful film, that has a lot of potential. Some adjustments to the screenplay, and an assist from a more experienced director, could have saved it from being a punchline (though I still maintain that it isn't as bad as many make it out to be).

Adonis & Bathsheba

2 an orgy in a garden of flowers
Adonis & Batsheba flew
All of creation awaits them
As they dance by the crystal blue
Stream of desire and erotic rebellion
That parade through their hearts and minds
They look at one another as much as they don't
2 touch is their need
2 love they are blind
An abandoned gazebo houses what looks 2 be a perfect place
they undress as they re running
Batsheba crying
Adonis - sweat upon his face
4 them there is no morning
Only night decisions so grand
There is no bed, how will they ever
They decide 2 stand
No bed, they decide 2 stand
Adonis & Batsheba in a garden of flowers

Adonis And Bathsheba is an unreleased track recorded on 27 July, 1986 at Prince's Galpin Blvd Home Studio

All My Dreams is an unreleased track recorded on 28 April, 1985 at Sunset Sound, Hollywood, CA, USA (four days after Holly Rock, the same day as Kiss).

It was included as the ninth and final track on a 1 May, 1985 configuration of Parade, but was removed before the album's release. The track was later included as the nineteenth and final track on a 3 June, 1986 configuration of the album Dream Factory, and kept as the eighteenth and final track on the 18 July, 1986 configuration.

When Prince decided not to proceed with the album after disbanding the Revolution, and concentrated instead on Camille and Crystal Ball (both of which were also aborted), he decided not to include this song.

The track was mentioned as a possible track for the 1998/1999 album of Revolution-era tracks, Roadhouse Garden, but this remains unreleased. Artwork has been posted online for an NPG Music Club album titled In All My Dreams, which likely includes this track, but nothing else is known about this album.

A portion of a distorted spoken section of this song was later reused in Acknowledge Me.

All my dreams
All my dreams, all my dreams

I'll see U 2night in all my dreams
All my dreams
My spirit's in flight in all my dreams
All my dreams
A submarine valiantly conquers a virgin sea
A child is born, a child is born, will U marry me?

I'll teach U 2night (2night, 2night) in all my dreams
All my dreams
U'll be so surprised (surprised, surprised) at things U'll see
All my dreams
Africa, Cap'n Crunch, Norma Jean, Sex and Cheerio's
Play my record double speed, feel the climax fit 4 a king

Just fun, nothing ethereal

Here ye, here ye, one and all
That the double speed playhouse is making a call

Welcome, this is where I live
This is where I dream my dreams
2night we'll make love until the world stops turning
U're small but very strong
U move like a cat: quickly but gentle
So insane
He caressed her in her eyes and licked her abdomen
She shivered with delight
Over and over she nibbled his ear
U'd think it was wrong 2 have so much fun
He held her tightly until it almost hurt
But his hips, they moved so slowly
She wanted 2 stop breathing
U can feel every curve of her womanhood
U can see every thought in his brain
A submarine slowly moves through the virgin sea
Oh so slowly
She wants 2 stop breathing
U... U can feel every curve

Lisa, I'm gonna give U the brush and U're gonna paint the side of the train

She squeezes tighter as the submarine goes deeper in depth
Into the unnavigated territory
A smile, ever so slight, appears on his face as she starts 2 cry
Until they come, 2gether, slowly
They wish 4 somethin', as if they could see a parallel future in the sea
They do not speak
They only stare out the moment in time

Marry me 2day and 2night we'll make love until the world stops turning
(I'm dreaming of a world)
(Wherein there shines the sun)
(Wherein there lay the stars)
(Wherein there lie the stones)
Gentle, but quickly

We'll travel 2night in all my dreams
All my dreams

All my dreams, all my dreams
Goodness will guide us if love is inside us
The colors are brighter, the bond is much tighter
U know no child's a failure
Until the blue sailboat sails him away from his dreams
Don't ever lose, don't ever lose
Don't ever lose your dreams
Yeah
