hahaha...for years I was able to metally block this album out...

Yeah, I like to metally block that shit out too. I listen to Kamasutra and then damn I gotta listen to some Maiden or Sabbath or something.

Also, nobody needs to explain why they think Kamasutra sucks. It would be like explaining why shit stinks. Why? Because it's shit and shit smells like shit. Suck is the essence of Kamasutra. I wouldn't even let my cats listen to that garbage.

My cats actually tripped a lot on Cutz, they were looking all around for the scissors sound every time I played it lol

Ha!

Sometimes I think about Cutz when I'm getting my hair cut. I hate that.

BoraBora

"Kamasutra" is simply a wrong excursion of P in an unusual musical territory for him.

There is something interesting here and there, but as a whole I find it boring and not fully realized.

In a strange way, I enjoyed it more as that digipack bootleg EP (very nice) before the official release saw the light with CB.

Being a shortest version under 20 minutes ("Kamasutra"+"Overture I" +"Overture II"+"Overture III") it was more easy to listen to and at time somehow entertaining.

When I listened to the full version it was difficult to reach the end.

what i don't get is Prince has a full orchestra at his disposal on a good part of this album, but all of a sudden he says fuck that i'm gonna put in a cheesy synth line instead cuz i'm the man!

I think a relevant ajoining question could be: ... and when was the last time you listened to it?
.

Like a lot of people I have it ingrained in my brain that it's bottom of the pile, but I honestly haven't listened to it since I got it in 1998, so can I really say it's shit? And more importantly, dare I listen to it to see if my assumption is correct? boxed

I tried the same experiment earlier this year with 1999: The New Master. I still haven't fully recovered from that session.

U been bamboozled, hoodwinked, took.

I listened to 1999: The New Master earlier this year as well. It's actually a nice piece of shit to listen to whenever you fear Prince is sinking to a new low. Not so fast! There's always 1999: The New Master.
