I've made a thread like this myself and your're right.

I think a box set would be in order, one disc from each tour/era. I'll shit in one hand and wish in the other. See which one fills up first.

A cd of the New Power Soul tour was closed to being released through npg records / love4oneanother website in 99. Judging from the Live NYC cassette, it would have been heavily overdubbed confused

Interesting, I've never heard that. What's your source?

The love4oneanother site itself back in 99 haha

Never mind the Montreux 2009 shows, there's a 2dvd set floating around among fans.. & it's highly overrated if you ask me.. sad

He thinks that if he does this regularly people won't come to his concerts.

For him, it's about making sure his fans will have a reason to attend his concerts, where he makes his real money.

He said all of this himself at some point, I don't remember when.

ONA and ONA live are at least out there, far from perfect but still a lot of great music.

For years, The Ride from Ona LIve was on Youtube, the comments were amazing.

Really what a body of work this guys has, I'm guessing he could one day release lots of recorded live shows but probably not before he's fully retired from the stage.

And don't count on that happening anytime soon.

For all we know, he'll still be performing She's Always in My Hair at 89.

In before Bart: we all know from other acts that just isn't true/not how it works.

Anyway, Prince could have and should have done a lot of things, like making live shows downloadable for his fans. Who cares anymore?
Let him play for his ever-dwindling audience and we have our bootlegs of the good old days.

To compensate for the lack of official 'live' material, 'the market' has quite a few unauthorized CD's etc of mostly complete, unedited, etc shows.

Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.
