Amen. Although he was almost there recently...

Days of Wild, Wasted Kisses and Calhoun Square just off the top of my head, so no. It's a good song though.

Those attack heavy synth stabs with the mean reverb/echo at the end KILL me. Love it. Best of the 90'....I unno...but i dig it and feel it's a bit underrated.

The lyrics seem to be a bridge between his hidden lyrics of the past and more honest ones that came to follow.

Matter of fact..imma go scope it on Tidal right now.

Almost everything on TGE is better than Letitgo, in my opinion.
It's catchy, but far from the best of the mid 90s

I love that song, but Prince was strong in the '90s.

A lot of great music. Cool time to be a fan.

I thought things would be crazy once the internet became more mainstream, but I wrong.

What led you to believe that?

I got the album the week it came out while on vacation in Louisiana and weirded my aunt out with all the pussy eating sounds on the title track.

Bang bang on the drummer

and love some soul...is the lyric.

I love the album and Sherm Stick versions but I wouldn't say it's his bes song of the 90's.

It's up there, though.

Letitgo's good but Days of Wild, Lovesign, Interactive, Shh, are tops IMO.

'Nothing Compares 2 U' is from 1985, and 'Last Heart' from 1986.

That aside, 'Letitgo' is great.

My personal favorite from the mid '90s/the whole '90s is 'Hide The Bone'.

But that's not a Prince original, so it doesn't count either. Letitgo talks about his issues with the music bizz and such, but that in itself doesn't make it a good song. His best mid 90s works imo are the songs where he talks about racial/social issues: Race, The Undertaker, Shy. In other words, where he's looking at the world at large, not just his own paisley world. eye Hate U is pretty good too.

Not an original? Because he didn't write the lyrics?

The Undertaker & House In Order live, with Levi & the band, those were always great.
Absolutely hate 'Shy' though.
And 'I Hate U' is good, but not anything special.

It was a bad album to play around family members. I remember I was blasting the CD loud in my bedroom the day it came out, I went downstairs for something and was talking to my mum and sister, next thing Orgasm comes (no pun intended) on. I can still see the look on their faces now, I must have got back up those stairs quicker than road runner to turn it off.
